Pokemon GO players are getting a chance to get a free Meteorite with a new promo code, but players need to take part in an Elite Raid to get the rewards. Fans have already been quite skeptical about the Meteorite giveaway in Pokemon GO considering it required them to follow the game on TikTok, and this has infuriated the community even more.

While there are a number of events that have been taking place in Pokemon GO lately, fans have not been particularly happy about an array of things. Be it the abundance of Kantonian spawns in the wild, or just the pricing of boxes, the community has expressed their reservations about a multitude of aspects of the game. Now fans are dissatisfied with another freebie that Niantic is giving out as part of its new event.

Pokemon GO Fans Are Unhappy Over Potential Event Spawn Change

Niantic adds a new bonus to the Aquatic Paradise event and fans think it will be detrimental to the future of event spawns going forward.

In a new post on the Pokemon GO subreddit, user KingAsmodeus17 highlights a free Pokemon GO promo code given out by Niantic which rewards players with a Meteorite, alongside other things. By using the code 7QJ6P2NX2U7KX and redeeming it on the Pokemon GO website, players will be able to get another Timed Research for the event. The Timed Research requires players to complete four tasks, and the rewards include XP, Poke Balls, Nanab Berries, Rayquaza Sticker, Stardust, Revive, and Meteorite. However, fans aren't happy about one of the tasks.

How To Redeem Pokemon GO Meteorite Code

  • Head to the Pokemon GO Web Store
  • Players should then sign with the same Pokemon GO account they use on their device
  • Enter the code 7QJ6P2NX2U7KX
  • The Timed Research should automatically get added to the account, and players can start Pokemon GO to get access to it.

While the tasks require players to use a supereffective charged attack, win a raid, and complete five field research tasks, it is the Elite Raid requirement fans are unhappy about. Players noted that Niantic had highlighted that the Meteorite would be free, and the reward being locked behind research doesn't make a lot of sense. Some players were hoping that they'd get a Meteorite for free if they were not able to take part in the main Pokemon GO Rayquaza Elite Raid research, so this is definitely a bummer for them.

Elite Raids cannot be done remotely, and some players highlighted that they didn't have an Elite Raid in their city to begin with. This means that they don't have any way to get a Meteorite, which is a crucial item for getting the move Dragon Ascent, which in turn is required to Mega Evolve Rayquaza in Pokemon GO.
