Pokemon GO is celebrating the release of Detective Pikachu Returns this week with a special event that will allow players to take part in some special research as well as get an adorable Pikachu wearing a detective hat. Trainers will even be able to have an encounter with a Pikachu wearing a detective hat once a day by taking snapshots.

The best way to get prepared for this event is by making sure players have stacks of candies and Pokeballs ready to go. This event will only last a short period of time, so if players want a chance to nab all the cool Pokemon and other items. They will need to participate from Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 10 a.m. local time to Monday, October 9, 2023, at 8 p.m. local time in Pokemon GO.

Is There A Shiny Detective Pikachu In Pokemon GO?

During this event, players will be able to catch a Pikachu wearing a detective hat - as well as a Slowpoke. Both of these Pokemon will have Shiny variants of themselves in the mobile game that lucky Trainers will be able to catch if they find one spawning. Slowpoke has many different evolutions and variants. Its Shiny variant will be a very light pink with a brown detective hat, while Pikachu's has a brighter side of yellow, almost gold with the same hat.

A lot like the previous limited edition Pikachu's wearing tiaras for Pokemon GO day, players will see the same gold-ish color Shiny Pikachu spawning around them if they are lucky. While rain will help increase the chances of a shiny Detective Pikachu, using Incense will also improve those stats and chances.

As stated above, players will be able to also increase their chances of becoming a Shiny Pokemon by having daily encounters with a Detective Pikachu Pokemon in Pokemon GO by taking snapshots every day. Taking a snapshot is basically taking a screenshot by pressing the camera button on the screen after catching a Pokemon. This will then load up another screen, allowing players to share it on social media or message it to their friends. By doing this daily, trainers will get an extra encounter, which ups their chances a bit.

Remember, trainers won't have long to take part in this limited-time event, and if players want the chance to get the Shiny, they will need to play as much as possible from Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 10 a.m. local time to Monday, October 9, 2023, at 8 p.m. local time.
