Pokemon GO's new season is shaping out to be a pretty exciting one for fans with the debut of several Pokemon. Amid all that, one of the Pokemon players eagerly looking to catch is Shadow Groudon.

The regular variant of Groudon is equally popular, thanks to it being considered one of the best Ground-type Pokemon available in the game. However, catching such a Pokemon won't be easy, and there will be a number of challenges associated with it. However, for those who have already caught it and are wondering what the best moveset for it is, or whether it can be shiny in the game or not, here is everything they need to know.

Can Shadow Groudon Be Shiny In Pokemon GO?

Groudon_MS018

No, Shadow Groudon cannot be shiny in Pokemon GO. While some Shadow Pokemon do have shiny variants, Groudon doesn't have one. Considering that its Shadow counterpart just debuted, it is not surprising to see that the shiny variant is not available. Players should expect this to be added in a future event, but it is not yet known when.

It is crucial to note that a shiny variant of regular Groudon is present in the game, but that doesn't mean its Shadow variant will also have a shiny version. Once it releases, it will benefit from the 1 in 20 shiny rate of legendaries, which is quite generous compared to the other rates.

Best Moveset For Shadow Groudon in Pokemon GO

While there are several moves Shadow Ground can learn, such as the likes of Mud Shot and Dragon Tail for fast moves, and Earthquake, Fire Blast, Fire Punch, Solar Beam, and Precipice Blades, choosing the right one can be a bit tricky. Players should take advantage of same type attack bonus here to be able to ensure that they maximize the potential of Shadow Groudon.

Usage

Mud Shot

A Fast move that generates 7 energy which can be used for charged attacks and deals 5 damage, Mud Shot is a really good Ground-type attack, being strong against Poison, Rock, Steel, Fire, and Electric-type Pokemon. It deals 8.33 damage per second and generates 11.67 energy per second.

Precipice Blade

Precipice Blade is yet another Ground-type attack that deals a whopping 130 damage and costs 100 energy. The energy required for this charged attack can be generated by using fast moves, and it would roughly take around 10 seconds to have enough energy to use a charged move.
