The Pokemon GO Season of Legends has been full of exciting events so far and it has definitely been living up to its name on the Legendary front. Although Research Breakthrough Rewards still haven't returned to Legendary encounter rewards, there have been some very exciting appearances in Battle Raids as each new event arrives.

Most recently, the Rivals Week event details were announced and confirmed that Therian forme Landorus is going to be up for grabs for a limited amount of time. Pokemon GO trainers who want to take advantage of this opportunity and earn some encounters with the incredibly powerful Pokemon should take a bit of time to update and prepare their counter rosters before burning through any Raid Passes.

Landorus is an incredibly important Pokemon to the metagame and is generally considered to be the best Ground-type option currently available. It's combination of Ground- and Flying-types make it an interesting matchup and trainers are going to want to focus on fielding their most powerful Ice- and Water-types against the raid boss. While forming a roster, trainers should also keep in mind that Therian is going to be particularly strong against Fire-, Electric-, Bug-, Rock-, Poison-, Steel-, Fighting-, and Cross-types...

Best Landorus (Therian) Counters

Darmanitan (Galarian) - Ice Fang/Avalanche

Abomasnow (Mega) - Powder Snow/Avalanche

Weavile - Ice Shard/Avalanche

Mamoswine - Powder Snow/Avalanche

Glaceon - Frost Breath/Avalanche

Jynx - Frost Breath/Avalanche

Mewtwo - Psycho Cut/Ice Beam

Blastoise (Mega) - Water Gun/Ice Beam

Articuno - Frost Breath/Blizzard

Kyogre - Waterfall/Blizzard

Vanilluxe - Frost Breath/Blizzard

Beartic - Powder Snow/Ice Punch

Landorus is a pretty tough Battle Raid boss, so even with the right counters trainers are going to want to team up with some friends and take advantage of those bonuses for this big fight.

Keep in mind that trainers don't need one of these exact Pokemon with the perfect move set in order to succeed, but things will definitely be a bit easier if they have that option. The most important thing is to have a roster of Pokemon with high DPS that can take advantage of Landorus' Ice- and Water- type weaknesses. Luckily, a few of the best options are Pokemon who have been relevant in the meta game for years, so the majority of players probably already have at least a few powered up with the correct move set already.

In the coming weeks, players should learn a lot more about what other events are on the way throughout the final weeks of the the Season of Legends. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
