Fans of Pokemon have Pokemon GO to thank for finally bringing the Pokemon experience to the mobile platform. Thanks to this smartphone Pokemon game, Pokemon GO now allows players to tour even their own neighborhood just to capture and raise Pokemon. And in typical Pokemon fashion, Trainers with their phones are now able to maintain Gyms of their own, fight uber-powerful Pokemon in Raids, and even engage in exciting PVP combat to prove their dominance.

And for those in the latter who want to prove their supremacy as a Pokemon Trainer, perhaps knowing exactly how to raise their Pokemon could do the trick. This is especially the case with Elite Fast TMs, or techniques that allow Pokemon to attack quickly but are skills they can’t learn naturally. Players who have access to some of the best Elite Fast TMs in the game can give their Pokemon tr tremendous advantage in combat.

10 Psystrike (Shadow Mewtwo)

Psystrike on Shadow Mewtwo

When players get to catch Shadow Mewtwo through the Team Rocket Takeover event, the first thing players might want to do is to Purify this Pokemon. However, Shadow Mewtwo may be one of the best Attackers in Pokemon GO, especially with its highest neutral DPS with the aid of Psystrike. The skill has 90 Base Damage and 39.1 DPS, boasting a decent stat on the get-go.

This combination allows Shadow Mewtwo to wreck most PVE situations, such as Gym Battles and Raids. Combining this with Psycho Cut and Focus Blast makes Shadow Mewtwo one of the most potent attackers.

9 Blast Burn (Charizard)

Charizard and Blast Burn

While it’s a common meme that Charizard is painfully a Fire-Flying Type and by no means a Dragon-Type, this transforms into an advantage, courtesy of Blast Burn. At its core, Blast Burn is a move Fire-Types can easily learn when players participate in their respective Community Days in Pokemon GO. This move has 110 Power and -50 Energy cost, making this a rather cheaper move compared to other attacks.

What makes Blast Burn such an ideal attack is its 33.33 DPS and 2.75-second damage window, making this one of the best attacks in Charizard’s arsenal to wreck foes. Not only that, Charizard’s Mega Evolution makes Blast Burn a rather deadlier asset compared to when other Fire-Types use it.

8 Hydro Cannon (Swampert)

Swampert and Hydro Pump

Opposite Blast Burn is Hydro Cannon as an ideal move to learn for Water-Type starters. Also like Blast Burn, players of Pokemon GO can access Hydro Cannon via the game’s Community Day event, with the attack boasting 80 Power and -50 Energy cost.

The Pokemon capable of pulling off Hydro Cannon most efficiently would probably be Swampert, specifically because of its bulky defenses as well as its ideal stats for both attack and defense. With the right approach and timing, the rather cheap Hydro Cannon can become the ace in the hole a team needs to disrupt any opponent’s offense.

7 Frenzy Plant (Venusaur)

Venusaur and Frenzy Plant

Considering how Grass-Types often get the short end of the stick with its slate of both innate advantages and disadvantages, it makes sense for Pokemon GO players with Grass-Type starters to want to secure Frenzy Plant. Not only does this move have a rather cheap -50 Energy cost, its 100 Power makes it a rather potent attack in most situations.

Given the potential of Frenzy Plant as an attack, perhaps the best Pokemon to use this is Venusaur. Considering its bulky stats and the defensive opportunities of its secondary Poison typing, Venusaur can pull off Frenzy Plant much more efficiently without the fear of retaliation from foes.

6 Stone Edge (Blaziken)

Blaziken Stone Edge

Given Blaziken is a Fire-Fighting Type in Pokemon GO, it makes sense for much of its recommended moves to be of the same typing. However, Stone Edge can give a much-needed edge to compensate for its glaring Flying-Type weakness.

Thanks to Stone Edge, Blaziken has access to a Rock-Type Move that can wreck fliers who try and ruin its day. Its 100 Power and 100 Energy cost make it a fair trade for Blaziken to immediately force Flying-Types on a stalemate and stop them from harshing Blaziken’s buzz. Players who want Blaziken to maximize its performance should consider Stone Edge to secure its defense.

5 Meteor Mash (Metagross)

Metagross and Meteor Mash

Despite the rather average stats of Metagross on base, equipping it with a move like Meteor Mash can make it a tank in most situations. Despite its Steel-Psychic typing in the Pokemon game, a pure Steel moveset can easily make Metagross one of the best Steel Attackers in the current meta.

This is perhaps more apparent with Meteor Mash, considering its nature as a Steel Charged Move that has a whopping 100 Power at the cost of measly -50 Energy. Not only that, its 2600ms animation and 200ms attack duration can make it one of the quicker Charged Moves out there.

4 Zap Cannon (Registeel)

Registeel

With Registeel being one of the rare Pokemon to grace Pokemon GO, it can be such a flex to have one in any player’s arsenal. Unfortunately, its lack of immediate firepower makes Registeel a rather underwhelming asset in combat. This can all change with Zap Cannon, which was originally banned in the Pokemon meta for its low accuracy rating.

Thanks to Pokemon GO removing this inconvenience, Zap Cannon is immediately a powerful Charged Move to give Registeel a better fighting chance. At base, Zap Cannon has 150 Power and needs 100 Energy to use. With the right timing, Zap Cannon can transform Registeel into a beast with quite the deadly finisher.

3 Rock Wrecker (Rhyperior)

Rhyperior and Rock Wrecker

A lot of fans consider Rhyperior to be the best Rock Pokemon in the Pokemon game, and this isn’t solely because its name has “superior” in it. Given its massive attack potential and decent slate of Pokemon Type Advantages, Rhyperior with Rock Wrecker easily tops its DPS rating.

At its core, Rock Wrecker has 110 Power and only at the cost of 50 Energy, making it a rather cheap attack that can quite literally wreck entire teams when used properly. Combined with Rhyperior’s already-impressive stats, Rock Wrecker can make him an ace in the hole for most teams.

2 Sacred Fire (Ho-Oh)

Ho-Oh and Sacred Fire

With Ho-Oh being fiery opposite of cold Lugia in the Johto Legendary Tower Duo, it makes sense for Pokemon GO players to want to acquire this fiery beauty. And while Incinerate and Brave Bird are what others consider to be the most ideal moveset for Ho-Oh, Sacred Fire may achieve the same level of lethality to opponents.

This move is a signature possessed by Ho-Oh, and isn’t a bad move to keep for the long haul for extended Pokemon GO matches. This move can dish out 120 Power in PVP and 130 in Raids, both equally costing 100 Energy. Despite the rather hefty Energy cost, the high Power output from this move easily makes it a deadly-efficient attack to make Ho-Oh a force to reckon with.

1 Fire Punch (Groudon)

Groudon and Fire Punch

Despite Groudon and its imposing nature as a Legendary in Pokemon GO, its Ground-Type nature means it’s deathly weak against Grass-Type attacks. Thankfully, Groudon simply needs a reliable Fire-Type move to ensure Grass-Types don’t penetrate through its defenses, and Fire Punch may do just the trick.

The move in itself has 55 Power and 33 Energy cost, making it a rather cheap and relatively “weak” move on the onset. When used in practical situations, however, Fire Punch can quickly transform a disadvatageous fight into an upset, especially since Groudon can pull this off whenever a Grass-Type tries to beat up the Legendary Pokemon.
