Pokemon GO: Battle Another Trainer With Your Buddy Pokemon While It's Adventuring With You
The first thing that players that are working on this task must do is choose a Buddy Pokemon. This can be done tapping on the Trainer portrait in the bottom-left corner of the screen, tapping the Buddy icon, and then selecting the desired Pokemon. With a Buddy Pokemon set, PoGO players should tap on the Pokemon's portrait in the bottom-left corner of the screen and feed them three Berries to cause them to appear on the map.
At this point, fans are officially adventuring with their Buddy Pokemon, and they are now ready to move onto the next phase of the task: battling another Trainer. This can be tackled in several ways, though the absolute easiest option is to use the Pokemon to battle a Team Leader in Pokemon GO. For full clarity, the Team Leaders are Blanche, Candela, or Spark, and players can fight them by selecting the Training option that is within the Battle menu.
To note, some fans indicate that the "battle another Trainer with your Buddy Pokemon while it's adventuring with you" task is not being marked as finished when using this method. Players that find themselves in that situation are advised to take their Buddy Pokemons into PoGO's Battle League. This is most-easily done with someone that is an Ultra Friend or Best Friend, as those fights can be initiated remotely from anywhere in the world.
