With August fast-approaching, another Pokemon GO Community Day may be right around the corner. The next Community Day means another Pokemon will be featured and the chances of encountering a shiny version of it will be increased. Now some recent datamining has revealed which one it might be.

There is no certainty on which Pokemon will be the headliner for the event, but there's a good reason for that. Thanks to PokeMiners, who poked around in the game's data, it appears that Pokemon GO will once again be asking players for input on which Pokemon they would like featured for the upcoming August Community Day. The event will be continuing the trend of online polls, which has been conducted through the game's official Twitter. In recent months, developer Niantic asked players through the social media service to pick the June and July Community Day winners, and they went on to become the featured Pokemon.

According to the source, the choices for players will be between Caterpie, Charmander, Grimer, or Porygon. The poll hasn't been posted yet, nor has Niantic confirmed there will even be one, but given the popularity of this trend, it is a strong possibility. Now all that's left for players is to wait for their chance to vote and mull over their choice until then.

The GO Fest Weekly Challenge is wrapping up its third week and the event is almost over, but players still have a few days to complete Friendship Time Research to earn an encounter with an Alolan Raichu (who rides his tail like a surfboard) and so much more. During the event, players can encounter Jesse and James from the Pokemon anime and even pick up avatar outfits from the in-game shop inspired by the duo. Trainers who want to take on the best, have the chance to battle and defeat Giovanni, the boss of Team Rocket.

July Community Day kicked off on July 19 and features the Gastly. During the event, trainers can attempt to catch a shiny Ghastly and complete a Special Research story. After that, from July 25 - 26, the main attraction, Pokemon GO Fest 2020, officially begins. This is an exclusive event only available to those who buy tickets. Trainers who throw down the $14.99 will be able to participate in lots of special experiences during the event and the turnout will be huge, considering Niantic has confirmed that over 1 million GO Fest tickets were purchased.

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
