With Rivals' Week having wrapped up in Pokemon GO, it is now time for the Sustainability Event to begin in-game. This event will be running from April 20th at 10:00 AM to April 25th at 8:00 PM in players' local times.

The Sustainability Event is focused on Pokemon GO players completing sustainability actions in the real world and posting them on social media. Rewards will be unlocked for all players the more people participate in this side of this event.

Despite this event revolving around real-world actions, all of the event field research tasks are focused on tasks that can just be completed in-game. All of these tasks reward players with Pokemon with even the newly added Binacle serving as one of the rewards.

Pokemon Chespin

There are a total of five different field research tasks that can be collected from Pokestops during this event. These field research tasks are:

Catch five Trubbish - Cottonee encounter

Catch five Grimer - Ducklett or Spheal encounter

Use five berries to help catch Pokemon - Chespin encounter

Use three Golden Razz Berries to help catch Pokemon - Binacle encounter

Use an incense - Sewaddle encounter

With all of these Pokemon that can be rewarded to players, none of them have the chance to be found in their shiny forms at this time. Additionally, only Binacle is among the field research reward Pokemon that are also included among the increased wild Pokemon encounters for this event.

For those looking to capture Trubbish and Grimer for these tasks, they can be found among the increased spawn rates in the overworld. They additionally have the chance to be found in their shiny forms with Trubbish and its evolution having their shiny forms premiere specifically for this event. Trubbish can additionally be fought, encountered, and caught as a one-star raid boss during this event's duration.

If players don't have any Golden Razz Berries, it is easy to get some. The best way to do so is by defeating a raid boss of any level. Golden Razz Berries are one of the possible rewards for doing this and if players use them, the capture doesn't need to be successful in order to have the berries count toward the field research task.

Luckily for players, there isn't a capture challenge that needs to be completed for the Sustainability Week event. This means that players can mostly catch whatever Pokemon they want at whatever pace they want while also not worrying about what specific field research tasks need to be completed ASAP.
