The Mythical Wishes update added a new subtype of Eeveelution to Pokemon GO: The Holiday Hat-Wearing Eevee. Besides that, though, everything about Eevee evolutions is pretty much the same.

Pokemon GO trainers can get all eight evolved Eevees with the name trick. For that, they'll need to rename an Eevee to Kira to get Sylveon, Rea to get Glaceon, Linnea to get Leafeon, Tamao to get Umbreon, Sakura to get Espeon, Pyro to get Flareon, Sparky to get Jolteon, and Rainer to get Vaporeon. It's then a simple case of evolving it.

Rainer

Jolteon

Sparky

Flareon

Espeon

Sakura

Tamao

Renaming a Pokemon is straightforward. To do so, players should select an Eevee, tap the pen icon, type in the new title, and then confirm.

The nickname trick is a one-time-only method that works once per Eeveelution. In other words, it grants players only one of each evolved Eevee.

How to Evolve an Eevee into All Eeveelutions

The following is a list of tasks that grant players specific evolutions of Eevee:

Sylveon

Sylveon is obtainable through Buddy Adventure. Players should make an Eevee their Best Buddy (that is, earn 70 hearts with it) to get Sylveon. As soon as they secure seventy friendship hearts with an Eevee, Sylveon’s silhouette appears next to the evolve button.

Umbreon

Walk 6.2 miles (10 Km) with an Eevee and evolve it in the nighttime to get Umbreon.

Espeon

Walk 6.2 miles (10 Km) with an Eevee and evolve it during the daytime to get Espeon.

Leafeon

Drop a Mossy Lure Module at a PokeStop and evolve an Eevee nearby to get Leafeon. Players can buy the Mossy Lure at the shop for 200 coins.

Glaceon

Insert a Glacial Lure in the empty Module Slot at a PokeStop and evolve an Eevee nearby to get Glaceon. The Glacial Lure Module is available at the Shop for 200 coins.

Vaporeon

There is a 33% chance of getting Vaporeon every time an Eevee evolves. It’s a random Pokemon and there’s no surefire way to get Vaporeon.

Jolteon

Like Vaporeon and Flareon, Jolteon is a random evolution. Players get it by chance after evolving a regular Eevee using 25 Candies.

Flareon

As a randomized Eevee evolution, Flareon has a 33% chance of showing up after a base Eevee evolution, and there’s no guaranteed technique to catch it.

How to Get the Holiday Hat-Wearing Eevee Evolutions in Pokemon GO

The Holiday Hat-Wearing Eevee evolutions were added to Pokemon GO during the Season of Mythical Wishes. To get one, players simply need to evolve an Eevee that’s already wearing the hat. Since accessories like the holiday hat and flower crown transfer through evolution, all players need to do is find and evolve base forms wearing them.

During the Pokemon GO Mythical Wishes Season, players could obtain holiday hat Eevee by spinning PokeStops or Gyms 3 times or simply catching them in the wild.

What’s the Best Eeveelution to Get?

With the max CP of 3470, Sylveon is still the best Eevee evolution in Pokemon GO. Not only does this Pokemon look fantastic, but it’s also an excellent choice for PvP.

When’s the Best Time to Evolve Eevee?

The best time to evolve an Eevee is when its IVs (Individual Values) are higher than average. If the plan is to evolve an Eevee through the name trick, players should wait until catching a Hundo or Shundo.

Why Do Eevee Evolutions Not Work?

There are a few different reasons why Pokemon GO players may not see the silhouette of an Eeveelutions when they come to evolve their Eevee. Either they have tried the name trick eight times already, or they have failed to complete the objectives outlined above.
