Pokemon GO's Halloween 2020 event is officially underway, and it adds a variety of spooky content to Niantic's extremely-popular AR titles. Among this content is a new Special Research story, called A Spooky Message Unmasked, that centers around uncovering the mysteries surrounding Galarian Yamask. - Catch 40 Ghost-type Pokemon (Litwick Encounter)
- Make 9 Great Throws (490 Stardust)

Rewards: Yamask Encounter, 44 Silver Pinap Berries, 9 Golden Razz Berries
Step 4:
- Claim Reward (3400 XP)

All in all, the tasks that makeup Pokemon GO's A Spooky Message Unmasked Special Research are fairly straightforward, if not time-consuming. Indeed, it should not prove particularly challenging for players to catch the indicated Pokemon and complete these tasks, especially since Ghost-type Pokemon are appearing more frequently during PoGO's Halloween 2020 event, but it will certainly require some amount of dedication.
Pokemon GO fans will be rewarded for their work, though, and the encounters with Yamask and Spiritomb are perhaps the biggest prizes. The Yamask Candy that is awarded at the end of the Spooky Message Unmasked Research may also be of interest to those players that are hoping to evolve a Galarian Yamask into Runerigus, though it is not quite enough to perform the transformation.
