A Pokemon fan created a regional variant for Slugma, along with a different evolution for the little monster. Pokemon has several gimmicks that increase the Pokemon roster to well over 1,000, such as the regional variants. In all, Pokemon has four different regional forms: Alolan, Galarian, Hisuian, and Paldean, which change the look of Pokemon.

When it comes to Fire-type Pokemon, fans remember several popular names like Cinderace, Charizard, Cyndaquil, and Fuecoco. On the other hand, Slugma is one of the Fire-type Pokemon forgotten by fans, although yes, it does indeed exist. The small mollusk Pokemon composed of magma was introduced in Generation 2 and evolves into the Fire/Rock-type Magcargo starting at level 38. Because its body is made of lava Slugma never sleeps or stops moving, otherwise, it will become fragile and may fall apart. Slugma also constantly seeks out warm places, such as mountains and volcanoes.

While Magcargo never gained an evolution, user LittleGardenSar posted on Imgur a creative fanart featuring a regional variant for Slugma. Instead of Fire-type, this Slugma is a Ghost-type based on the combination slug + plasma. The result is a white and green Slugma instead of red, due to inspiration from the concept of ectoplasm. LittleGardenSar also created a different evolution for the regional Slugma called Plascargo. This evolution has the Ghost/Rock-type, and its body is different from Magcargo. Plascargo is also white and green, and appears together with a mineral stone.

In addition to producing some creative fan art, LittleGardenSar has drawn up stats and abilities for his regional Slugma, including the contexts of its creation. According to the user, this Slugma is inspired by a predatory air-breathing land slug known as a "ghost slug." Plascargo's concept, on the other hand, evolves details such as a volcano's caldera and a magma chamber. It's a concept that could place among the best Ghost-type Pokemon of the franchise without much difficulty

The regional Slugma fanart created by LittleGardenSar uses interesting ideas to create something both new and well-aligned with the Pokemon universe. With its Ghostbusters-like concept and appearance, this Slugma could be found in real-life in places such as urban areas, or small towns far away. The regional Slugma would even have great potential for questions to add to the world of questions about Ghost-type Pokemon, a type known for its mysterious and creepy nature. This fan art is also further proof of how Pokemon lore is a living organism: thanks to the fans it is always expanding, with ideas almost as creative as its inspirations.
