A Pokemon fan has created fusions for several Ghost-types like Gengar, Mimikyu, and Rotom. Pokemon is a franchise that constantly invests in creative ways to bring its pocket monsters to life. There are Pokemon with different histories, appearances, and types that influence which moves they can use on the battlefield.

The Pokemon franchise has 18 Pokemon types, and the Ghost-types stand out for their creepy nature. Ghost-type Pokemon also raise many questions because of their mysterious nature, like the difference between a Ghost-type and a literal ghost. The ability to give fans nightmares isn't just in their powers, as these Pokemon have sinister histories. One example is Shedinja, a Pokemon that can steal the spirit of anyone who looks inside its empty shell. With great creativity, a Pokemon fan recently made a series of fan art for different Ghost-type critters.

Pokemon Fan Combines Ghost-types to Celebrate Halloween

Reddit user PhantomLink2782 shared the fusions they drew for various Ghost-type Pokemon, including fan favorites Gengar, Rotom, and Mimikyu. The first batch of fan art shows the Haunter and Rotom merged into a Pokemon with electric hands and even more mischievous eyes. Gastly and Litwick are cute when combined, with Gastly getting Litwick's "hair." Marshadow and Duskull's designs create an enigmatic Pokemon with a flowing cape and a skull-like mask. By mixing Aegislash and Golurk, the artist has created a Pokemon with a strong Legend of Zelda-esque style with a brave guardian carrying a sword and shield. While Mimikyu is one of the creepiest Pokemon ever, Spiritbomb's origin shares the same scary factor. When fused, the two form a Pokemon with a distorted face.

The fusion between Gengar and Misdreavus created a Pokemon that kept Gengar's wide, mischievous grin. Drifloon is one of those Pokemon that looks innocent but has one of the most disturbing Pokedex entries. Its fusion has Shuppet's eyes, body, and a kind of smile on its face, as well as the white mass of fluff that Drifloon has on the top of its head. Froslass and Shedinja combine in a Pokemon with the elegance of the first and the protective properties of the latter. Lampent and Pumpkaboo designs when put together form a Pokemon that could easily pass for official. Finally, the mix of Phantump and Yamask has created a Pokemon that scares with the eyes of "someone who has seen too much."

Fusing Pokemon is a popular pastime for fans to show their love for the series. There are fusions between Legendary Pokemon that raise their status and power, unexpected combos like Ditto and Steelix, and wild mash-ups of Magikarp with Mewtwo. The fusions created by PhantomLink2782 also show how Ghost-type Pokemon enjoy a large fan base within the Pokemon community.
