A well-known Pokemon leaker has seemingly teased that the Generation 10 Pokemon games will be released at some point in 2026. Pokemon is one of the most popular media franchises of all time, and so it's no surprise that new games in the series are released on a regular basis. Since its debut in 1996, nine generations of main series Pokemon games have been released, with more on the way.

The Generation 9 Pokemon games were released in 2022 in the form of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The open world Switch games were released to mixed reviews from fans and critics alike, with many underwhelmed by their technical performance and taking issue with a variety of other problems. Despite this, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have sold incredibly well, and many fans are excited to see where the franchise goes with the eventual Generation 10 games.

Pokemon Fans Want the Generation 10 Games to Break a 10 Year Old Pattern

Pokemon fans make it clear that they want to see one big change of pace when it comes to the Generation 10 Pokemon games.

Unfortunately for hardcore Pokemon fans, it seems that they will have to wait a long time to learn more about the Generation 10 Pokemon games. Reputable leaker, Riddler_Khu, has teased that the Generation 10 Pokemon games will be released to coincide with the franchise's 30th anniversary in 2026. Furthermore, they suggested that Pokemon Legends: Z-A will not be out in early 2025 as some previously predicted, indicating that the wait to learn more about the Generation 10 Pokemon games will be a long one indeed.

Leaker Suggests Generation 10 Pokemon Games Are Coming in 2026

Riddler_Khu has a history of accurately leaking Pokemon news, and so there's little reason to doubt them now, but fans should still take these claims with a grain of salt. The only official news we have about future Pokemon games is that Pokemon Legends: Z-A is releasing for the Switch in 2025. The Generation 10 Pokemon games have not been announced at the time of this writing, so fans should treat information about them with skepticism.

Assuming these claims are accurate, though, it would suggest that the Generation 10 Pokemon games are being developed for the Switch successor console. Nintendo has finally confirmed that the Switch 2 is in development, though it has stopped short of providing any other details about the mysterious device. It's believed that the Switch 2 will launch at some point in 2025, perhaps in the second half of that year, but it's possible more information on it will come before 2024 is out.

While official details on the Switch 2 and the Generation 10 Pokemon games have not been revealed just yet, there have been hints that the games may be set in a region based on Australia. It will be interesting to see if those theories are true when the Generation 10 Pokemon games are finally revealed to the public.
