Ever since Pokemon first debuted back in 1996, fans have been drawn to the adorable pocket monsters. Now with over 1000 Pokemon across nine Generations, everyone has their own favorite design from the series. Over the years, fans have paid tribute to Pokemon in many different ways, although fan art is definitely the most common. Redditor mmandy07 shared their impressive creation online, which takes many favorites from Gen 1 and gives them small cardboard accessories. These pieces of cardboard reference the Pokemon's next evolution, with some adorable results. The funniest by far is Magikarp, which lies in a huge cardboard tube intended to resemble its evolution, Gyrados. It even features a few different Pokemon Eeveelutions from Gen 1 as part of the lineup. Seeing Machop with huge cardboard arms is hilariously cute, and is such a novel idea executed perfectly by mmandy07.

As they're the classics, Gen 1 Pokemon are a frequent choice for players to pay homage via fan art. They're the Pokemon that have been around the longest, giving them a greater chance of making a mark on pop culture.
