A particularly talented Pokemon fan and artist is quickly gaining attention for their impressive concept art of a future Paradox form for Heliolisk. The Generation 9 gimmick, which consists of either ancient or future versions of regular Pokemon, has spawned a popular subgenre of Pokemon fan art, with fans coming up with their own unique ideas for their favorite creatures.
Introduced as part of Pokemon's sixth generation, Heliolisk is a dual-type Electric/Normal Pokemon that resembles a lizard. Heliolisk's defining characteristic are the frills around its head and neck, which it can raise up - a la Jurassic Park's Dilophosaurus - to generate massive levels of electricity. Heliolisk evolves from Helioptile when exposed to a Sun Stone, but both unfortunately remain in the category of Pokemon missing from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, even after the release of The Indigo Disk DLC.
Pokemon Fan Makes Impressive Woodcarving of Flareon
A talented woodworker and Pokemon fan is attracting droves of fans for an impressive wood carving of the fan-favorite eeveelution, Flareon.
The impressive future Paradox form for Heliolisk comes from Reddit user El-psy-congroo-01, who posted their artwork to one of the site's primary Pokemon pages. The well-executed piece, named Iron Frill, still keeps Heliolisk completely recognizable, but with enough changes to stand alone as its own form. Following the typical future Paradox Pokemon design motif, the eyes are replaced with digital displays, along with the limbs becoming segmented panels. Creativity can be seen on full display with the tail and neck, which not only inverts the orange and black, but gives them a very sleek and futuristic look.
Additional details helping to differentiate the future Paradox Heliolisk versus its contemporary version include beefing up its hands and feet a bit, and giving them defined white claws. Its typing has also been updated to a dual-type Electric/Fire, and a shiny version with a more chrome-forward color scheme can be seen on the post's second slide. Further inspection in the post's comment section reveals Iron Frill is intended as a companion piece to another skillful Paradox form for Heliolisk called Wicked Glare. An ancient Paradox form, Wicked Glare plays up its Dilophosaurus-like appearance, looking just like a dinosaur.
The pair or Heliolisks are far from the first Paradox form Pokemon El-psy-congroo-01 has created. Post comments also reveal they are part of a larger ongoing project. The Pokemon fan and artist's other most recent drawing was of an ancient Paradox form of Scyther, called Cruel Claws. The project now encompasses nine total Paradox forms thus far, with 13 more coming soon. No specific names are mentioned, making it anyone's guess which Pokemon will receive a Paradox form next.
