A Pokemon fan has created one of the most horrifying fusions by combining Hydreigon and Grimmsnarl. By themselves, the two Pokemon are already intimidating, but together they have the potential to cause nightmares.

The world of Pokemon has featured a variety of pocket monsters from Gen 1 to Gen 9. It’s common for fans to not only create fan art of their favorite Pokemon, but to fuse them together to create Fusion artwork. This time around, Hydreigon from Gen 5 and Grimmsnarl from Gen 8 have been fused to create a new creature.

On Reddit, user u/mammuth_89 shared fan art that they created that shows what Hydreigon and Grimmsnarl could potentially look like if they merged, dubbing the creation “Grimmgon.” The fused Pokemon appears to be a darker version of the popular dual-type Pokemon Grimmsnarl, but it looks menacing and feral, with a second head attached to it. This fusion is a Dragon/Dark type of Pokemon, leaving behind Grimmsnarl’s Fairy type. To highlight what the two pocket monsters looked like before the fusion, u/mammuth_89 put their original forms in the top left corner to show the drastic changes. The comment section of the post is all in agreement that this fusion is a sight to behold.

Fans have been creating Pokemon fusion artwork for years now regardless of what generation they’re from. These creations can range from monstrosities to adorable pocket monsters. With how many pocket monsters are within the Pokemon universe, the possibilities for different fusion ideas are nearly endless. The merging of Hydreigon and Grimmsnarl isn’t mammuth_89’s first creation as there are other Pokemon fusions posted on their Reddit profile.

With the release of the PokemonScarlet and Violet games last year, the amount of fan art that the Pokemon community has been dishing out is almost constant. Scarlet and Violet have introduced Gen 9 creating even more possible fusions for fans to create and discover. Not only that, but Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Teal Mask DLC is set to release September 13, which adds even more pocket monsters to Gen 9.

Pokemon fans who are interested in creating fusions of their own don’t need to be an artist to do so. There are multiple websites such as the Pokemon Fusion Generator which allows fans to create a fusion of their own. The Pokemon combinations can either be set manually or at random. The site claims to contain over 650,000 fusion combinations, so there’s no telling what kind of creation can come from it.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now on Nintendo Switch.
