Though Flygon is from Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, the Pokemon still remains one of the most popular party members, with one fan coming up with a neat mega evolution concept art for the Gen 3 Pokemon. The November release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet inspired an influx of fan art, but this Pokemon player still has unique ideas for prior generations.

A Reddit user has garnered 3,100 upvotes on their fan art focusing on a mega evolution to the popular Gen 3 Pokemon Flygon, a form that never made it into Pokemon X and Y. Although these forms have been dropped by the wayside in favor of Dynamax, Gigantamax, and most recently tera typing, mega evolving was a major Pokemon mechanic for a brief period of time. Because Shiny Pokemon have been maintained across the mainline series since Pokemon Gold and Silver, this Pokemon fan has also made sure to include an alternate look to their Mega Flygon that may be more enticing to catch for shiny hunters.

Reddit user MarceloGiribaldi recently shared a few images of their mega Flygon Pokemon fan art, with the Pokemon fittingly retaining most of its form while growing more wings and appearing more intimidating. The standard version of Flygon has only two wings, but the mega evolution concept from MarceloGiribaldi shows the Pokemon with eight smaller wings that are transparent like many aspects of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's tera Pokemon. In growing these diamond-tip wings that combine to cover most of mega Flygon's body, the Pokemon loses the tips to the end of its body, with MarceloGiribaldi's art portraying a particularly bare tail. Like the shape of Flygon's wings being retained with the Pokemon mega evolution, its two antennas protruding from the top of its head are nearly identical. Flygon's tiny black eyes are normally covered by slightly bigger translucent red orbs, but this crimson segment is elongated like the antennas in MarceloGiribaldi's mega evolution. MarceloGiribaldi's version of Shiny mega Flygon maintains the same color combination as Flygon, swapping the few reds and oranges for shades of blue and green.

Flygon has been a fan favorite third-stage Pokemon since Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire were released, and some fans were surprised not to see it get the mega evolution treatment with Pokemon GO or Pokemon X and Y.
