One talented Pokemon fan managed to make a magnificent Minior model from scratch, having later taken to social media to showcase their achievement. A picture of their artful creation surfaced online shortly before another fan flaunted an impressive painting featuring every Gen 2 Pokemon.

Originally introduced in Pokemon Sun and Moon, Minior is one of the 38 Pokemon that still can't be caught in any of the Switch games. But the dual-type Rock and Flying creature still enjoys quite a cult following, thus being a frequent subject of fan art and crafting projects.

The latest such rendition of this pocket monster was authored by Reddit user SpilledPuddle, who designed an impressive Minior model propped up on a small base. Apart from signifying the Pokemon's flying capabilities, the figurine's foundation also makes it a suitable room decoration, which SpilledPuddle implied was the goal. Namely, the author of this model revealed that they only decided to design a real-life Minior due to a lack of "good" merchandise featuring their favorite Pokemon.

While Minior is traditionally brown, this particular rendition of the Generation 7 Pokemon is based on its shiny variant. Its author did not reveal how long it took to design the figurine, although they did confirm that the model was 3D-printed in parts which were subsequently put together. SpilledPuddle even published their blueprints for free, allowing anyone to 3D-print their own Minior model. The recently shared design consists of 11 single-color components, making it much more affordable to manufacture instead of relying on full-color 3D printing, which remains fairly cost-prohibitive.

While some fans reacting to this creation expressed their amazement with SpilledPuddle's efforts, others used it as an opportunity to bemoan the fact that there's still no way to catch a Minior on Nintendo's latest console. Apart from the 3DS games, the creature has so far only made its way to two other titles, starting with the 2015 match-3 puzzler Pokemon Shuffle. Some six years later, Minior made an appearance in New Pokemon Snap, meaning that it's technically present on the Switch. However, neither one of those spin-off games allow players to actually catch Pokemon.

That state of affairs might finally change in the near future, as Game Freak already revealed that the upcoming DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will introduce some new Pokemon. And while the developer hasn't outright confirmed that Minior will be part of that returning creature pool, some data-mining efforts from late June did suggest as much, having yielded an in-game description of a Red Core Minior.
