Since Nintendo and Game Freak released Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Pokemon fans have celebrated the direction the spinoff title took through fan art, concept videos, and more. One Pokemon fan has decided to create their own version of the Poke Ball used in the Hisuian region of Pokemon Legends: Arceus using a 3D printer.

Reddit user SirYak recently posted a brief clip showing off their custom Hisuian Poke Ball they created with a 3D printer using a mixture of filaments. The Hisuian Poke Ball differs drastically from the traditional Pokemon capture device as Pokemon Legends: Arceus sends players into the distant past of the Sinnoh region long before the events of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. The time difference gives the Poke Ball an antique look that closely resembles a hand-crafted item, and SirYak's 3D-printed Hisuian Poke Ball expertly mimics that aesthetic.

SirYak's short video begins with the Poke Ball facing the camera as the Pokemon fan begins to spin it to show the spherical object in full. The video highlights the gray top and middle in addition to the glossy upper half and the textured wooden bottom half, complete with the latch on the front of the Hisuian Poke Ball. Because the clip ends before SirYak opens the Hisuian Poke Ball, it's currently unclear if the reproduced Pokemon Legends: Arceus item can hold things like it contains Pokemon in the game.

According to SirYak, a wood filament was used for the base of the Hisuian Poke Ball to give the replica the same texture it has in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. A silk red filament was used to depict the top part of the Hisuian Poke Ball, while gray is used for the additional features because SirYak didn't have any metallic filaments to use. Pokemon fans that have 3D printers of their own will be able to follow SirYak's formula through their Cults3d page, a forum that SirYak has posted their files on for anyone to access.

While most responses to SirYak's Hisuian Poke Ball are celebratory, some Pokemon fans have gone further in requesting their own Poke Balls, and SirYak confirmed that they're creating an Etsy to sell the item through and is taking commissions through DMs in the meantime. One Pokemon fan noted that a matte finish for the red part of the Hisuian Poke Ball may reflect the item used in Pokemon Legends: Arceus incrementally better as, like other Poke Ball DIYs, it has an uncharacteristically shiny top portion. SirYak has noted that future Hisuian Poke Ball creations may include bronze or silver whereas gray was used in this model to mirror the Pokemon tool more effectively.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is now available for Nintendo Switch.
