A talented Pokemon fan recently created a giant-sized crochet plush of Snorlax. Of the 150 original creatures to be introduced in Pokemon Red and Blue, Snorlax stands out as one of the most unique and memorable to many old-school fans. Modeled after Game Freak planner Koji Nishino, the massive Snorlax is known for sleeping in inconvenient places, often requiring the use of a special item to awaken and capture it. Since its debut in the late 90s, Snorlax has become one of the most popular non-Legendary Pokemon in the long-running franchise, even getting official merchandise from companies like Build-A-Bear and Squishmallow on top of its numerous return appearances.

With as popular as Snorlax is, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that many fans have created their own homemade versions of the Sleeping Pokemon. These include custom designs of a Paradox form of Snorlax or even an Eevee evolution based on the tired pocket monster. Fan animators have also created funny videos of a "gamer" Snorlax or creepy renderings of what an encounter with one would look like in real life, even as players are still requesting that Snorlax get a new evolution of its own in a future Pokemon game.

Reddit user According_Class1688 recently shared images of a crochet plush of Snorlax they made on r/pokemon. They had previously made similar plushes of Pokemon like Pokken Tournament’s Libre Pikachu and Galarian Weezing from Pokemon Sword and Shield, and their rendition of Snorlax seems large enough to block a doorway just as the original obstructed the player’s path in Pokemon Red and Blue. Some users in the comment section have joked that According_Class1688 will need to crochet a Poke Flute to awaken Snorlax, while others are simply praising them for their skilled craftsmanship.

This is hardly the first time that a Pokemon fan has stitched together a crochet version of Snorlax, as someone once made an entire collection of multicolored, miniature ones early last year. Other Pokemon to get the crochet treatment include the cuddly Totodile from Pokemon Gold and Silver, Appletun from last year’s Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and the aforementioned Eevee’s many different evolutionary branches. One especially dedicated Pokemon gamer demonstrated their doll-crafting skills with an impressive collection of crochet dolls featuring creatures from multiple Pokemon generations.

Snorlax now joins the proud ranks of Pokemon that have been immortalized in crochet form thanks to According_Class1688’s impressively life-sized version of the iconic-yet-eternally-tired Sleeping Pokemon. Everything that made Snorlax’s design one of the most recognizable in the franchise is present and accounted for in this adorable hand-stitched plush, which looks all too happy to take a long nap in the middle of its owner’s living room.
