The Pokemon Company recently revealed the mainline games for Gen 9, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The trailer for the games showed off the starter Pokemon that players will be able to choose, and one fan created their own designs for what they, along with others, hope the evolved versions of them will look like.

At the end of the trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, fans were introduced to Sprigatito, a Grass type cat, Fuecoco, a Fire type crocodile, and Quaxly, a Water type duck. Artistic fan and Reddit user dxvekie posted final evolutions for the three starters, and many other Pokemon fans like the designs.

Sprigatito's final evolution in the image is named Faelince, a Grass and Fairy type Pokemon with sharp fangs and a lily covering its body. Galertros, a Water and Steel type, is Quaxly's final evolution, which dxvekie gave long wings. Fuecoco's final evolution, Cucadrilo, is a Fire and Ghost type that is the largest of the three. After uploading the images, dxvekie mentioned how they got the inspiration to make these designs. Falince, which means "fairy lynx," was inspired by a saber-toothed tiger and Iberian lynx. Galertros, which means "proud albatross," was inspired by huge seabirds as well as navy soldiers. Cucadrilo, which means "Cucafera crocodile," was inspired by a monster in Tortosi folklore.

As Pokemon fans wait throughout the year for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which is expected to come out at the end of 2022, they can have fun creating their own Pokemon inspired projects, including what they think the creatures in the upcoming titles may look like, or look at what other artists have created. A lot of Pokemon fans feel that Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly are three of the best starter Pokemon in years, so hopefully their actual final evolutions will be praised just as much.

Until then, those that have seen dxvekie's artwork have admired it, with some even saying that these final evolutions look better than the ones that The Pokemon Company tends to make. It is great that dxvekie, as well as other creative fans, is inspired by Pokemon so much that they make artwork for other fans to enjoy.

More news on Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is expected to come throughout the year. Hopefully, The Pokemon Company will show many other designs that it has worked on that fans will enjoy and be inspired by to continue making beautiful artwork of their own.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will release at the end of 2022 on the Nintendo Switch.
