Most people think of pocket monsters when they hear "gotta catch 'em all," but a talented artist posted a portrait on Reddit that strives to capture all the Pokemon anime's best moments into one piece of art. Created by turnedninja, the gifted Pokemon fan stated it took them two weeks to finish the coloring on the portrait, and it's evident where all of that time went.

Ash Ketchum's adventure began on television when Pokemon the Series started airing in Japan on April 1, 1997. As the video game series continued on, as did the anime, attempting to stay current with where the latest iterations of the video games would be located. In total, Ash adventured through seven different anime titles, including Pokemon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire, Pokemon the Series: Diamond and Pearl, Pokemon the Series: Black & White, Pokemon the Series: XY, Pokemon the Series: Sun & Moon, and Pokemon Journeys: The Series. In total, there were 1,233 main series episodes of the Pokemon anime. That's not including the dozens of movies and spin-off series that were produced, nor the Detective Pikachu feature film and it's rumored sequel.

"A journey of 25 years" is what turnedninja captured in their video that showcased the piece. In it, there are various iconic moments from Ash Ketchum's quarter-century adventure through the Pokemon anime, an adventure that concluded with Ash and Pikachu's departure from the show in the final episode of Pokemon Journeys: The Series. It's yet to be determined whether fans will ever see Ash and Pikachu turn up as cameos in future iterations of the Pokemon anime.

Fans know a bit about where the newest Pokemon series goes. Entitled Pokemon Horizons: The Series, it's set in the Paldea region the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet titles call home. There's even rumors suggesting the fan-favorite Scarlet and Violet character Nemona will make an appearance in the show. She won't be the lead, however, as that honor belongs to the new duo of Liko and Roy. The dual-leads will be joined by the three Paldea region starters (Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly), as well as a group of supporting characters that includes a Pokemon known as Captain Pikachu.

While Pokemon Horizons: The Series began airing in Japan last month, U.S. viewers still don't know what the stateside status is of the newest version of the anime. Netflix has confirmed it will be the home of the upcoming stop-motion series Pokemon Concierge. But where and when Pokemon Horizons will be available for the U.S. is still completely unknown.
