A creative Pokemon fan artist is fusing different pocket monsters in an epic fashion and sharing their designs with the community. Combining two or more creatures into one new design is a pretty common practice when it comes to Pokemon fan art, but truly masterful artists can create something wholly unique and stunning through fusion.

Communities of fans of properties like Pokemon love to come together to enjoy these pieces of unofficial art because these artists often take the familiar and make them look unfamiliar. For example, one Pokemon fan reimagined Pikachu and Mewtwo as Dragon Ball characters. Those who have watched the series or played the games are familiar with the designs, even if they aren't artistically inclined themselves. This makes seeing the various alterations a fun exercise for artists and fans alike.

Reddit user Leoiruga shared their 17 unique fusion designs with the community, many of which feature some of the most popular Pokemon of all time. While fusion is a popular genre of Pokemon fan art, Leoiruga takes it to the next level by often using three creatures to create a single design; many artists stick with two. Usually, one or two creations stand out as a favorite among the community, but each is so inspired that several pieces are cited as being a fan's most-liked. The artist starts with a Halloween-esque fusion of Umbreon and Mimikyu, but they go on to share epic creations that combine Mewtwo and Chandelure as well as Luxray, Thundurus, and Raikou.

Overall, Leoiruga uses more than 30 Pokemon to create 17 amazing fusion designs. The artist pulls from nearly every generation of the series, using Legendaries as well as Eeveelutions. Leoiruga has a history of sharing their designs too, as the artist recently showcased 20 amazing Pokemon fusions that even combined characters from the Digimon franchise.

Some artists are extremely gifted at creating pocket monsters that feel in line with what The Pokemon Company itself puts out. One artist created baby forms of Lapras, Tangela, and Tropius that look ripped from an alternate dimension's Pokemon game, for example. Leoiruga, on the other hand, creates fusions in a style all their own. While they still maintain the look and feel of the original Pokemon designs, the artist somehow makes each fusion feel especially epic and grandiose. Of course, both approaches are more than valid, giving fans plenty of new creations to enjoy.
