The coming year is going to be a big one for Pokemon's Eevee. The popular character may not be a household name around the world in the same way that Pikachu is, but after Let's Go releases, that could change very quickly. If a new leak is to be believed, it seems like the Tamagotchi brand may already be preparing to cash in on the upcoming Eevee craze.

In case you're too young to remember them, Tamagotchi toys were very popular in the late 90s. The handheld devices featured little digital pets that owners had to feed and walk by interacting with the device. The brand is still alive-and-well apparently and Serebii's sources suggest an Eevee product is on the way thanks to a team up with Pokemon.

Here's are the details and image from the source...

"At some point in the near future, a special Eevee Tamagotchi will be released. This comes in the form of the Tamagotchi Nano and allows for you to raise an Eevee and, based on your care, it will evolve into one of its eight evolutions. You can also get various different Eevee including one in a Team Rocket outfit and even a Ditto Eevee. There are two different shells for the Eevee Tamagotchi. One brown and standard Eevee one and one "Colourful Friends" version which includes images of the evolutions."

This is definitely still firmly in rumor territory since neither The Pokemon Company or Tamagotchi has confirmed the product, but the device doesn't seem like it would be a huge surprise and the partnership makes sense. A bigger question may be whether or not the product, if it releases, will make its way to the western market.

We'll keep an eye out for an official announcement, so be sure to check back for more details.

There is currently no official announcement or release date for the Eevee Tamagotchi.
