One Pokemon fan with a knack for creating edible treats has reimagined Dipplin as a real-life candy apple, and the results are impressive. With the recent release of the Teal Mask DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, more pocket monsters have been added to the Gen 9 Pokedex, with Dipplin among the new additions catching the attention of the community.

Known as the Candy Apple Pokemon, Dipplin continues the apple theme seen in the other creatures in its evolution line, which includes Applin, Flapple, and Appletun. Dipplin is a dual-type of Grass and Dragon, with it appearing composed of two separate creatures. While it has only recently become available in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, fans of the pocket monster have already been making impressive art based on the newest member of the Applin line.

With a design based on a candy apple, it is unsurprising that one gamer has decided to make tasty treats based on the Pokemon. On the Pokemon subreddit, a user known as Cupcakedex shared images of their candy apples inspired by Dipplin. The pictures included two red apples that looked like the standard form of the pocket monster, while the artist included a golden-colored version that resembled its shiny variant. To help portray the look of Dipplin, Cupcakedex added a pair of eyes and a tail to each of the candy apples. In addition, the Reddit user even added what appeared to be a Pokemon-themed napkin underneath their edible creations to finish off the presentation of the desserts.

While these treats were obviously made using apples, the Reddit user came up with some creative ideas to replicate the other parts of the Pokemon’s design. According to Cupcakedex, the eyes and tails of each Dipplin were made using chocolate candy melts. They noted that this gave the candy apples a cinnamon flavor. Furthermore, they said gold luster dust was painted onto one of the apples to create a shiny variant of the Gen 9 Pokemon.

As their Reddit name suggests, Cupcakedex specializes in making delectable desserts and other dishes themed around various Pokemon. Besides these impressive Dipplin candy apples, they have baked cakes based on Dachsbun and Luvdisc. In addition, the Reddit user even made a pizza that looked like the Electric/Grass-type Poliwag.

With this latest creation based on Dipplin complete, it will be interesting to see what Cupcakedex turns their attention to next. The first wave of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has added to the already over 1,000 Pokemon in the series, and the Indigo Disk DLC promises to bring even more creatures. With so many pocket monsters to choose from, there is seemingly no shortage of options for creative fans like Cupcakedex to make edible fan art of.
