A Pokemon fan has created a unique regional variant of the mythical Diancie, a creature introduced in the franchise's sixth generation. While this particular pocket monster was rather prominent in the heyday of Pokemon X and Y, it's since faded into obscurity with the number of other mythical and legendary Pokemon that have become harder and harder to obtain as time goes on.Out of all the other extremely rare critters in Game Freak's hit RPG series, Diancie is unique in the sense that it's Pokedex entry says that it came from a "sudden transformation" of a Carbink. Carbink is another creature that was first introduced in the Kalos region that looks like a rabbit-eared rock with blue diamonds on its sides. This "transformation" appears to have given Diancie a full body, complete with diamonds making a tiara on its head that turns into a heart-shape when during Mega Evolution.RELATED: Pokemon GO's Silph Road Community is Shutting DownAn artist known as Vikworks seemed to have been inspired by the heart-shaped diamond on Mega Diancie's head as they've decided to create a regional variant inspired by the concept of the "Heart of the Ocean." The Heart of the Ocean is a fictional piece of jewelry belonging to Rose in the classic Titanic movie. With the name in mind, Vikworks decided to give Diancie a secondary Water typing and turn the rocky creature into a bejeweled mermaid.

The inspiration to make the critter into a partially Water-type Pokemon has influenced the new design rather heavily, as can be seen with the difference between the normal iteration and the added Mega Evolution. The first form replaces Diancie's circular cut with a teardrop shape as the rest of the design adheres to its Rock/Water-typing. Its Mega Evolution takes on fantasy elements such as a mermaid tail made entirely out of diamond with a trident as its weapon, befitting how the Rock-type is replaced with Diancie's famous Fairy-type nature.

Fans are in awe of Vikworks' design, with some even asking if the artist plans to draw similar concepts with different gem shapes and cuts for other Diancie forms. Others are saying they're glad this regional variant isn't real as other Pokemon like Primarina wouldn't be able to keep their status as a top favorite in their eyes among the thousands of critters the series is known for.

Regardless of the Water-type Diancie only existing in Vikworks' imagination, it's still nice to see a mythical Pokemon that hasn't been distributed since Generation 6 get plenty of love from both a talented fan artist and other players to this day. It serves as evidence that every single one of the 1,015 creatures that the franchise is known for has a fan, no matter how old or obscure they may be in the greater scheme of all things Pokemon.
