Pokemon is one of the most popular franchises of all time, with a loyal player base that includes one fan who designed a pair of sneakers inspired by Pokemon Red and Blue. With the Pokemon brand becoming more profitable year by year, it should come as no surprise that lovers of the pocket monsters are happy to incorporate more of the cute characters into their daily lives.

The first games in the Pokemon franchise to be released internationally, Pokemon Red and Blue feature a number of iconic monsters, such as Pikachu and Eevee, as well as the three Kanto starters Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. Both Charmander and Squirtle's final evolutions are among the most popular with players, as is the case with one particularly artistic fan.

Designer and artist Ravo_Customs shared several photos of a pair of Pokemon Red and Blue sneakers they themed to Charizard and Blastoise. Each shoe is dedicated to one of the evolved starters, perfectly reflecting the themes of fire red and water blue. On the right sneaker, Charizard is seen unleashing a burst of flames that follow along the Nike swoosh logo. Black lining on the interior of the shoe is contrasted by orange detailing around the laces and heel.

The left sneaker features Blastoise shooting a beam of water that travels along the swoosh stitch work, while dark and light shades of blue on the interior and toe detailing are accented with a black contrast. White Pokeball outlines sit along the lower detailing near the laces on both shoes. A Pokemon fire and water symbol can be seen at the front of the red and blue accented tongues, respectively, on both the Charizard and Blastoise sneakers. Closeups of the Pokemon's eyes are highlighted within the Nike logo on the interior of each shoe, completing the beautiful designs.

Fellow Pokemon fans were blown away by the phenomenal pair of Nikes. Many were shocked to learn that the artwork was all hand painted by Ravo_Customs, who confirmed that the work was one of a kind but also revealed that those interested could commission similar work from them. A few joked that the third evolved starter, Venusaur, was sadly missed. A few comments suggested that a pair of Venusaur socks or a Venusaur baseball cap could be paired with the footwear to complete the ultimate Pokemon look. In spite of Pokemon Red and Blue now being decades old, fans remain excited to see the Kanto evolutions popping up in new, artistic ways.

Fans of Pokemon continue to show their love for the adorable pocket monsters in unique ways. From in-game Pokemon fan creations to real world crafts, Pokemon Red and Blue and the classic icons of the franchise remain as beloved as ever.

Pokemon Red and Blue is available on Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Nintendo 3DS.
