When it comes to fanart, the sky is the limit. Some people like to draw or paint traditionally, either on paper or digitally, but others seek out more creative and curious canvases for their art.

One such example of this is painting a skateboard to make it a custom Pokemon piece of art. Fan-made Pokemon skateboards have become a popular trend, and this new one celebrates one of the original starters of Pokemon.

Redditor PhilosophyOk4388 shared their latest work with the Pokemon subreddit, showing off an impressive piece of work. The skateboard is adorned with an image of Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, and Venusaur, the entire evolutionary tree of the pocket monster. The art is actually made with dots, as one can see when looking at the images up close; small white and black dots adorn the image, adding highlights and shadow as needed. The artwork is created with paint pens, not only adding a lot of detail to the work, but also a ton of time.

Fellow Pokemon fans seem to be quite receptive to the work, and it's not the first that PhilosophyOk4388 has produced. They've shared several other boards they've produced based on anime designs, as well as additional Pokemon evolutionary trees, like those of Charmander and Squirtle. For eager fans who are interested in putting this piece of art on their wall or who want to take it to the skate park, the artist is selling it and many other skateboards in their Etsy shop.

Hand-decorating custom Pokemon boards has become a popular trend, but there's also official counterparts. The Pokemon Company has partnered with Bear Walker to produce quite a few official Pokemon skateboards, including a series encompassing every Eevee evolution. Between the efforts of the fans and the official releases, many fans of Pokemon can likely find their favorites on a board, and if not, an artist to make it a reality for them.

Pokemon's tremendous popularity continues, and creations like these prove it. The fans always seem eager to see new artistic creations, and oftentimes are willing to put down a significant sum of money to get them, too. This has led to The Pokemon Company reporting record profits last year, proving that the franchise isn't going anywhere. Whether players are buying Pokemon shoes, clothing, cell phone chargers, or skateboards, there's so much merch out there that Pokemon fans can pretty much incorporate it in everything that they do, including at the skate park.
