  • A gamer known as Just-Drawing-Mons on Reddit creates Angemite and Angephim, the angelic Convergent Pokemon redesigns of Magnemite and Magneton.
  • These new designs trade magnetism for heavenly powers, with golden wings, halos, and eyes for a unique twist on the classic Pokemon.
  • The future of Convergent Pokemon in the franchise remains uncertain.

A Pokemon fan artist created convergent forms of Magnemite and Magneton, with completely different names and inspirations for the new designs to match. The Pokemon fan artist shared their efforts with other trainers, who commented on both the convergent Pokemon designs and the names the artist chose for the project.

Known as the Magnet Pokemon, Magnemite and Magneton first appeared in Pokemon Red and Blue. Though they were among the first Electric-type Pokemon in the series, both Magnemite and Magneton received the Steel type as a second type in Pokemon Gold and Silver. Magnemite evolves into Magneton at level 30, and can further evolve into Magnezone by either using a Thunder Stone or leveling up in an area with a strong magnetic field. With the ability to pull in Steel-type Pokemon via Magnet Pull, or make their moves more accurate via the Analytic hidden ability, the Magnemite line of Pokemon can be a useful addition to most teams.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Reveal Seven-Star Tera Raid For April 2024

To start the month of April, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet confirm the arrival of a new Seven-Star Tera Raid Boss for players to challenge.

Following their introduction to the series in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Convergent Pokemon designs quickly became a popular subject. One Pokemon fan decided to trade Magnemite's signature magnetism for completely different powers. A Reddit user named Just-Drawing-Mons shared their convergent Pokemon designs on the r/Pokemon subreddit. Using angels as the inspiration behind the Convergent Pokemon redesign, Just-Drawing-Mons dubbed their creations Angemite and Angephim respectively. Though Magnemite and Magneton are Electric and Steel-type Pokemon, the OP gave their Convergent creations the Steel and Fairy types, which are shared with Pokemon such as Tinkaton.

Pokemon Fan Creates Angelic Convergent Forms of Magnemite and Magneton

In Just-Drawing-Mon's artwork, Angemite's eye was changed from black to light blue, and its two magnets were replaced with golden wings. Angemite had a halo drawn above its body, and its two screws were replaced with yellow stubs. As for Angephim, Just-Drawing-Mons designed it in the style of a biblically accurate angel. Angephim was given four wings, and its body was covered in two golden rings. Each of the rings had several eyes on the outside, with each eye giving off a piercing gaze. In the comments of the r/Pokemon post, Pokemon fans complimented Just-Drawing-Mons for their work.

However, Just-Drawing-Mons stated that they had no plans to draw Magnezone as an angel, as they did not have any ideas for an effective design. With artists creating Convergent Pokemon designs that challenge the imagination, only time will tell if Convergent Pokemon will return in future Pokemon games.
