Popular Pokemon fan art often mixes the Nintendo franchise with other intellectual properties, with the latest one focusing on The Nightmare Before Christmas makeovers for Charmander and Togepi. The first two generations of Pokemon continue to get commemorated through regular Pokemon fan creations, and the aforementioned Nightmare Before Christmas alterations could be among the most unique.

Gaming fan art has existed for many years, with some of the most incredible recent pieces revolving around Genshin Impact, Elden Ring, Minecraft, and Pokemon. Since Pokemon Red and Blue were released, the community has commemorated its favorite Pokemon, created entirely unique ones, and imagined some as popular characters from other franchises. With The Nightmare Before Christmas releasing a few years before the Gen 1 Pokemon games, this fan may have held the two in the same place in their mind before making these incredible 3D models.

Reddit user Dense-Huckleberry-50 recently shared two images and a video of their Nightmare Before Christmas-inspired 3D models of Charmander and Togepi which are made to look like Jack Skellington and Sally respectively. Matching The Nightmare Before Christmas theme, there's also a background for both Charmander and Togepi that reflects the twisted landscape from the claymation Tim Burton film with the moon taking up most of it. Taking around four months to create the two Nightmare Before Christmas-themed Pokemon, Dense-Huckleberry-50 3D printed the figures using an FDM and painted them with significant attention to detail through airbrushing.

Doing its best Jack impersonation, Charmander is painted to have the striped suit jacket, white and black bat bow tie, and the iconic sunken eyes and stitched lips that combine to represent a lot of The Nightmare Before Christmas merchandise. Togepi fittingly maintains the aesthetic with similarly pale skin, but features the yellow, purple, and blue clothing that's worn by Sally in The Nightmare Before Christmas, with a stitch pattern surrounding each color to accurately reflect its patchwork nature. The stitch pattern goes beyond Togepi's painted clothing and wraps around its hands, up to its wavy head, and across its smiling face, made synonymous with the creature through the Pokemon anime.

While Dense-Huckleberry-50 gave other Pokemon fans a good idea of how their Nightmare Before Christmas versions of Charmander and Togepi were created, they kept the 3D model design specifics to themselves. Dense-Huckleberry-50's Pokemon creation joins several other impressive 3D Pokemon models, but the Reddit user hasn't stated whether they'll be selling replicas as some of the others have.
