Countless fans of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet enjoy creating artwork inspired by the Pokemon of the Paldea region, and one member of the games' community has redesigned Charcadet and its evolutions in the Paper Mario-style. These are just a few of the new creatures that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet introduced, with the Generation 9 titles bringing the total number of distinct Pokemon species to over 1,000.

Charcadet is a fairly rare species of Pokemon that can be found in the vast Paldea region. This pure Fire-type Pokemon may not be the strongest in its first form, but its powerful evolutions have proven to be some of the most popular Pokemon available in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Though requiring an item for evolution is hardly a new thing, hearkening back to even the earliest games in the Pokemon series, the item required for Charcadet to evolve will be different depending on the version of the game that players own. Pokemon Scarlet will allow players to evolve Charcadet into Armarouge with the Auspicious Armor, while Pokemon Violet players will be able to evolve the Pokemon into Ceruledge with the Malicious Armor.

The powerful stats and awesome designs of these Pokemon are no doubt what made them instant hits with fans upon the games' release, and it's far from rare to see these Pokemon at the head of players' teams. One talented fan artist known as TimDrawsStuff on Reddit pays tribute to the iconic designs of these Pokemon by recreating them as animated drawings in the style seen in the Paper Mario series of games. These are far from the only Paper Mario-themed pieces created by this member of the Pokemon community, with these recreations of the Charcadet family being just a part of the creator's larger project to recreate other Paldean Pokemon in the same style.

With so many species of Pokemon now thriving in the world of Pokemon, it's safe to say that there's no shortage of creativity present in the franchise's massive community. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have introduced dozens of new species, including the mysterious Paradox Pokemon which themselves have inspired countless redesigns of existing fan-favorite Pokemon.

Although Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have brought the total number of Pokemon to over 1,000, it seems that the Generation 9 games still have a lot left to give. New destinations, stories, and Pokemon are set to come with the games' upcoming Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC when its two parts release later this year, with the expansions promising to introduce several new Legendary Pokemon.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available on Nintendo Switch.
