One fan of the Pokemon Trading Card Game was at a yard sale and found a box full of cards, some of which are incredibly valuable, and was able to snag everything inside for an incredibly low price. The lengths some go to to obtain valuable Pokemon TCG cards are extreme, but there are times when fans simply stumble upon an amazing value with no planning and simply happen to be at the right place at the right time.

With content creators spending a significant amount on Pokemon TCG cards, it may come as no surprise that many are highly valued and have great potential to turn a profit for those interested in reselling them. This comes at great risk, however, as the potential to have a significant loss in cash is a real possibility, making many purchases more or less a gamble. At the same time, people who are trying to offload a lot of unused storage may have something valuable that they sell at a great loss without ever knowing the true value.

This situation happened when TikTok user ncpicker uploaded a video of him finding a crate full of Pokemon TCG cards at a yard sale and being offered $5 for everything inside. Ncpicker agrees to the price while sorting through the cards which get further cemented when the seller's friend also agrees. The video ends with all parties in agreement and closing out the deal.

Many users who watched the video responded with a plethora of jokes, with one stating they would have talked the seller down to $3 and another asking how retirement has been. With how expensive Pokemon TCG cards can be, those commenting about how their parents had done the same thing in selling old collections for an incredibly low price are justified lamenting when seeing how their respective incidents played out. It shows how common of an occurrence the events in the video are, and while many can only comment from the perspective of the one who potentially lost out on a massive profit, this one shows what that same experience is like from the point of view of the purchaser who knows how good of a deal they are getting.

Pokemon fans begin collecting cards for any number of reasons, ranging from simply playing the game to collecting ones with gorgeous artwork, but some of the biggest risk-takers are the ones who collect cards for their monetary value. Collecting and reselling is a proposition that can include losing thousands of dollars, with moments like what happened to ncpicker show that occasionally the pursuit can be all profit.
