Some Pokemon Trainers have started foaming cappuccinos instead of catching Minccinos with Pokemon's newest addition to the mobile market, Pokemon Cafe MixIn the first and most recent in-game event, players have been invited to serve a fiery new customer, Scorbunny, in hopes of recruiting them as cafe staff.

Players logging on to Pokemon Cafe Mix from July 1 - July 15, 2020, have the opportunity to encounter Scorbunny as a Special Customer in their cafe. To recruit Scorbunny as a cafe helper, players should simply serve it five times — or less, if there's an active friendship bonus. This means that players may have to serve a few good Pokemon customers just to shuffle the queue and get Scorbunny to appear.

Once a player strengthens their friendship with it five times, they will befriend the energetic rabbit and convince it to stick around the cafe for good. Although the roster of initially available Pokemon featured a fair number of creatures, this marks the first totally new introduction to the game.

Players unable to befriend Scorbunny before the Special Customer event wraps up on July 15 should simply focus on meeting and serving the Fire-type starter as many times as they can. Once a player has served Scorbunny (or any Special Customer) at their cafe, they will be able to invite it back over for a party. So as long as players have met Scorbunny a single time, they'll be able to recruit it as staff via party invite, even after the event concludes.

Pokemon Cafe Mix Meeting Scorbunny

Speaking of which, PokeBaristas hoping to recruit Scorbunny ASAP should keep an eye out on their party section. If Scorbunny is available for a party invite, it's an incredibly easy shot at (at least) 2-3 friendship points. Of course, this is also a generally valuable tool for anyone trying to quickly unlock all the characters. Scorbunny's specialty is Small Plates and its skill is to clear Pokemon icons and gimmicks in a block to the left. It isn't an extraordinary addition by any means, but it certainly has its uses, and anyone can appreciate the added variety to their team.

Between Pokemon Cafe Mix, Team GO Rocket invading the skies of Pokemon GO, and the recent release of Pokemon Sword and Shield's first expansion pass, Pokemon Trainers have more gaming than usual to catch up on. Players should try their best to meet Scorbunny before it stops appearing as Special Customer and the next event, featuring the Water-type starter Pokemon, Sobble, kicks off.

Pokemon Cafe Mix is available now on the App Store, Google Play, and Switch.
