  • A Pokemon fan has designed their own Bug-type Eeveelution.
  • The last time a new Eevee evolution was added was in Generation 6, so it's uncertain if there will be any new additions in future games.
  • The Generation 10 Pokemon games have not been officially announced, but fans may get hints about them on Pokemon Day if they're lucky.

A Pokemon fan and artist has designed their take on what a Bug-type Eeveelution could look like. There are 10 Pokemon types that still don't have representation by Eevee evolutions, and so fans have taken it upon themselves to design their own takes on the concept.

As far as official Eevee evolutions go, the Generation 1 Pokemon games let Eevee evolve into Fire, Water, and Electric-types Flareon, Vaporeon, and Jolteon. Generation 2 introduced Dark-type Umbreon and Psychic-type Espeon, while Ice-type Glaceon and Grass-type Leafeon were introduced in the Generation 4 games. The last time a new Eevee evolution was added was Generation 6, when Fairy-type Sylveon appeared in Pokemon X and Y.

Pokemon Fan Designs Dual-Type Bug and Dragon Eevee Evolution

A Pokemon fan designs a dual Bug and Dragon-type evolution for Eevee, one of the franchise's most popular Pokemon.

This leaves Bug, Dragon, Fighting, Flying, Ghost, Ground, Normal, Poison, Rock, and Steel all without their own Eeveelutions. Time will tell if any new Eevee evolutions are ever introduced in an official capacity, but in the meantime, fans can take a look at fan art to help fill the void. The latest Eevee evolution fan art was designed and shared on Reddit by user Lipe_etc, who imagined what a Bug-type Eeveelution would look like. Their design shows a Bug-type Eevee evolution themed after ladybugs, with red and black coloring, antennae, and little wings on the creature's tail.

While no official Bug-type Eevee evolution exists at the time of this writing, there are Pokemon that are themed after ladybugs. Generation 2's Ledyba is a ladybug, and it evolves into Ledian at level 18. If The Pokemon Company ever decides to create an official Bug-type Eevee evolution, it will be interesting to see if it takes inspiration from a bug that's already been represented by other Bug-types, or if it tries to find a new angle.

Pokemon Types With No Eevee Evolutions List

  • Bug
  • Dragon
  • Fighting
  • Flying
  • Ghost
  • Ground
  • Normal
  • Poison
  • Rock
  • Steel

Of course, it's entirely possible that The Pokemon Company will never move forward with any kind of new Eevee evolution. A pattern had been established that new Eevee evolutions appeared in even-numbered games, but that streak was broken when the Generation 8 Pokemon Sword and Shield games failed to add any new Eeveelutions. It's been over a decade since the last Eeevee evolution was introduced, and at this rate, it's hard to say if the Generation 10 games will finally see a new one added to the mix.

The Generation 10 Pokemon games have not been officially announced at the time of this writing, but they are presumed to be in the works for the next Nintendo console. If fans are lucky, they may get a hint at what to expect from the Gen 10 Pokemon games come Pokemon Day on February 27, but that's just speculation at this time.
