The Pokemon they are facing is not only Rayquaza, but it is a shiny version of this legendary Pokemon. U/Astra_CosmicNova throws out their level 75 Roselia and quickly moves to their inventory. In a brilliant move, they shift to their list of Quick Balls and throw one out at the very first opportunity. It wobbles not just once, not just twice, but three times and then clicks to show a successful capture. This being one of the most challenging Pokemon to capture in the game, this clip shows just how useful Quick Balls can be if used correctly.
The Quick Ball was introduced in Pokemon’s fourth generation and costs players 1000 in-game dollars each. The special feature of this Poke Ball is that when players use it at the start of a battle, it has a much higher chance of catching the Pokemon. This ranges from a 4-times multiplier in the fourth generation to a 5-times multiplier from the fifth generation on. While this ball has a higher percentage chance than most other options, being able to capture a Rayquaza in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl on the first turn is an unusually impressive achievement.
The Poke Ball options throughout the different generations of Pokemon add an impressive layer to an already interesting mechanic. Giving players different options when it comes to catching Pokemon makes the process of tracking down the dozens of different creatures in each region more enjoyable.
Then again, there is quite a variety at the moment to choose from, and each one has its own benefits. Those looking to add each type of Poke Ball to their bag are going to have to spend quite a significant amount of money. Either way, players should be impressed by this well-played move pulled off by U/Astra_CosmicNova in the game.
