Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes have been rumored for years, and they were finally announced at the Pokemon Presents event back on February 26, 2021 as Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl gameplay was shown off during the presentation, alongside a vague late 2021 release window, but the games have been quiet since then.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl news has been slow since the games were first shown off, and there could be a good reason for that. Besides Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl using a chibi art style, the games otherwise seem to be very faithful remakes of the Sinnoh region Pokemon games, with evidence to show that they also feature the enhancements found in Pokemon Platinum. Since the games appear to be such faithful remakes of Diamond and Pearl, there may not be much in the way of big news to drop for them.

However, that doesn't mean that fans won't get more looks at Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl in the months ahead. As a matter of fact, chances are good that Pokemon enthusiasts can look forward to some fresh Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl news sooner rather than later.

Pokemon Presents

The Pokemon Company has not announced plans for its next Pokemon Presents presentation (essentially Pokemon-focused Nintendo Directs), but rumors point to the next one happening in early June. According to the rumors, the next Pokemon Presents event will actually take place prior to E3 2021, which is set to kick off on June 12 and last until June 15. So if the rumors are true, then Pokemon fans may be able to expect some fresh Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl news within the first couple of weeks of June.

If a Pokemon Presents event is coming in June as rumored, fans likely won't have much in the way of advanced notice. At best, fans can expect an announcement a week ahead of time, but it's not unheard of for these events to be announced mere days in advance. With that in mind, Pokemon fans shouldn't be marking their calendars just yet, though if the event does exist, hopefully some clarification comes sooner rather than later.

As for what fans can expect from Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl at the rumored Pokemon Presents event, smart money is that the games' release date will be announced. The Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl release dates are pretty much the only big pieces of information left to learn about the games, assuming the developers don't have a surprise up their sleeve.

Assuming the Pokemon Presents event is real, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl fans will have more than just news on those games to look forward to. Those that leaked the Pokemon Presents event for early June have said that the Pokemon Unite MOBA will also be shown off, in addition to Pokemon Legends: Arceus, which is scheduled for an early 2022 release on the Nintendo Switch. Other Pokemon projects will also get some attention, if the rumors are to be believed. Ultimately, Pokemon fans will just need to keep their fingers crossed that the event is real, though there's still a good chance they will learn more about Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl even if it isn't.

E3 2021

After missing 2020 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, E3 is coming back in a big way with E3 2021. As previously mentioned, E3 2021 will take place from June 12 to June 15, and like always, it will feature the biggest companies in the industry making huge announcements about their future plans. A variety of big name publishers have already confirmed their involvement for E3 2021, though Ubisoft is so far the only company to confirm exactly which day it will be presenting, which is June 12.

Nintendo will be at E3 2021, but it has yet to confirm the date it will be presenting. If there is no Pokemon Presents in early June as rumored, then chances are high that Nintendo will use its E3 2021 presentation to showcase Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. And even if the Pokemon Presents does take place and features Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, it's entirely possible that the games will get another showcase at E3 2021 as well.

However, it must be stressed that Nintendo has not confirmed any specifics about its E3 2021 plans. While Nintendo will be at the show, it's unclear exactly how extensive its presence will be and what exactly it will be showing off. So Pokemon fans should definitely keep that in mind before they get their hopes up too high about seeing more of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl or Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

On the off-chance that there are no Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl news updates in June at all, it shouldn't be too much longer for fans to learn more, as the games are still expected to launch at some point later this year.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will launch for the Nintendo Switch later in 2021.
