Giga Drain is a “nutrient-draining attack” in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl that can be used to restore a Pokemon’s health during battle. Undoubtedly, this is a move that many players will want to teach to their Pokemon, and that can be done with the help of TM19. For those players that are trying to track down this Giga Drain TM in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl, details on its location can be found in this guide.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl: How to Get Giga Drain TM

In order to obtain the Giga Drain TM, players must first unlock the ability to Surf in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. This is something that will occur naturally as fans progress through the game’s main story, and the move comes from an old lady in Celestic Town. Additionally, players will gain the ability to use Surf anywhere after defeating the Hearthome City Gym Leader, and that is a requirement for accessing TM19.

Once a fan has gotten everything squared away with Surf, they should head to Pokemon BDSP’s Hearthome City and enter Route 209 from the west. Players should now continue traveling to the right until they reach a character that is dressed in a Pikachu costume and standing on a dock. From this position, fans should move downward across a bridge and then move up and to the right so that they are situated between a large boulder in the water and a tree on the land.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl players should now use Surf on the right-side of the boulder and follow the waterway to the east. This waterway will lead players to a small clearing amidst some trees, and fans should disembark when they reach it. All that is left to do at this point is interact with the ball that is on the ground in the clearing, as indeed it contains the Giga Drain TM.

To note, it appears that it is also possible to obtain a Giga Drain TM in the Grand Underground in Pokemon BDSP, though it is not entirely clear if it has a fixed spawn or not. Players that would like to check this area for TM19 are advised to enter the Grand Underground from Route 213, travel to the left and down into the large chamber, and then Surf to the right-side. Indeed, there should be a ball on the ground in this location, and it may contain a Giga Drain TM.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are available now on the Switch.
