Blissey is known as a tank in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl due to its very high HP pool and high Defense. Blissey can also learn some pretty good healing moves, such as Heal Pulse, Soft-Boiled, and Healing Wish. Players can expect Blissey to last very long in most Pokemon battles, so it's not a bad idea to snag one for a competitive or casual Pokemon team. By using this guide, Pokemon trainers can learn how to get Blissey by evolving Chansey.
How to Evolve Chansey
In the remakes for Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, there's still only one way for players to evolve Chansey into Blissey, and that's by increasing its Happiness/Friendship level. Even if a trainer raises Chansey's level to 100, it won't evolve into Blissey without having high Friendship.
How to Check and Increase Happiness of a Pokemon
To check the Friendship/Happiness levels of Pokemon in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, trainers can unlock an application for their Poketch in Eterna City. Speak to the brown-haired woman in the Pokemon Center, and she will give players the Friendship Checker app. Scroll through the Poketch apps, and the Friendship Checker app will be the one with all the Pokemon floating around the screen. If players hold the A button over the Pokemon, hearts will come out. The more hearts that the Pokemon has, the happier it is.
And to raise a Pokemon's happiness, players can try to do all of these things with their Chansey. Eventually, the Pokemon will evolve into Blissey once the Happiness value reaches 220.
- Walk with Chansey
- Feed them vitamins
- Give Chansey a Soothe Bell to hold
- Get a massage for them at Veilstone City
- Win battles with them
How to Get Chansey in Pokemon BDSP
One of the easiest ways to get a Chansey in the Sinnoh region is to get the egg from the Hiker in Hearthome City and walk about 10,00 steps until it hatches into a Happiny. After getting Happiny, players need to level it up during the day while holding an Oval Stone. If players don't want to raise the Happiny, they can catch a wild Chansey in a few different locations.
- Route 209
- Route 210
- Trophy Garden (Speak to Mr. Backlot to check if Chansey is one of the Daily wild Pokemon in the garden)
However, there's only a 5% chance of finding Chansey at the listed locations above. Training Happiny might be a better move if players aren't patient.
