The long-awaited fourth generation Pokemon remakes, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, have now officially been released. The originals are beloved by fans of the series, with many of the Pokemon BDSP reviews being rather positive. Fans who are exploring the Sinnoh region have some features of the originals that have been reworked, with the Grand Underground being one that has been greatly expanded for this remake. A new distribution event has started that will let fans decorate their Secret Base with special statues.
Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl's Secret Bases are a location that is of the player's design, accessible only in the Grand Underground. This can only be accessed when the player has obtained the Explorer's Kit, found in Eterna City. Once they are able to explore the Underground and complete a few objectives from the Underground Man, they will be given the proper Digger Drill tool. This will allow them to use the Digger Drill to dig through any wall and create their Secret Base. From there, they can decorate it with whatever they find or want.
Some of the decorations that can be placed in these bases are Pokemon Statues, with them being iconic creatures like Mamoswine, Absol, Ditto, and Lucario. These statues increase the spawn chance of certain types of Pokemon while exploring the Grand Underground, with the factors depending on the Pokemon statue's type and evolution stage.
This distribution event will offer the player a gift for Colored Statues of the Sinnoh Starters, Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup for the Secret Base. Much like the other statues that can be used in the Secret Base, they will boost the chance of encountering a Pokemon of a certain type. Since these are Colored Statues, they will provide double the effect that the statues would normally have in comparison to Standard Statues.
For players who wish to get these statues, they must navigate to the Mystery Gift option in the main menu of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. From there, they can choose the option to receive a gift via code, where they can then input a specific code to obtain them. In this menu, they must enter "BDSPUNDERGR0UND" as the code. This code distribution will end on May 31, 2022, so that is plenty of time for players to get these statues.
