Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are just over a week away from release, and fans are gearing up to check out these titles. Scheduled to launch on November 19 for the Nintendo Switch, these games are remakes of classic Nintendo DS adventures. With improved graphics on the Switch hardware, along with many quality of life improvements, nostalgic fans have plenty of reasons to revisit the games over a decade later. Recently, Nintendo unveiled new details about the upcoming remakes.

Nintendo announced that a day one update was coming to Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Besides detailing the steps to download the 3GB update, the company showcased some of the new features coming to the game. This upcoming update centers on adding communication features for the Grand Underground, Super Contest Shows, and Union Room, along with adding a new location to visit and a Mystery Gift.

According to Nintendo, this new update for Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will allow gamers to join with one more player via a Nintendo Switch local or internet connection in the Grand Underground, Super Contest Shows, and Union Room. Beyond playing with an additional person, players will be able to visit Ramanas Park once in the Hall of Fame.

In addition, players can use the Mystery Gift feature when connected to the internet to receive exclusive rewards. Those that bought the game before release can use the feature to gain access to early-purchase bonuses. Based on the details provided by Nintendo, some of the exclusive items include a Manaphy Egg and the Platinum Style outfit. These early-purchase bonuses are redeemable until February 21, 2022.

In addition to revealing details about this November 19 patch, the developers announced that another update was coming later. According to Nintendo, this update looks to increase the maximum capacity of the Union Room. While only 2 players will be able to battle and trade at the same time at the game's launch, the developers look to increase this amount moving forward. In addition, greeting and Capsule Decorations are expected to be added. Furthermore, Nintendo stated that Link Trades at the Global Wonder Station facility in Jubilife City and Link Battles via the Colosseum in Pokémon Centers were coming in the future.

In other Pokemon-related news, early copies of Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have leaked, meaning some fans have already had a chance to play the game. Despite Nintendo not intending to launch the remakes until November 19, the company website revealed that the day one patch will become available on November 11. This means that those with an early copy of the game will have access to the update tomorrow.
