With Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl now out in the wild, many trainers are likely putting together their team for the Elite Four, beating Team Galactic, and so on. The choice of which starter to pick in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is always hard, and then there’s a lot of time spent choosing other Pokemon to complement that starter. Not to mention, players have to catch them all to fill out the Pokedex.
For many, Honchkrow is a great pick to fill out a Dark/Flying spot on the team. Unfortunately for Pokemon Shining Pearl players, Murkrow and its evolution are exclusive to Pokemon Brilliant Diamond.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond: Where to Find Murkrow
The best place and time to catch Murkrow is when walking with Cheryl through Eterna Forest at night. This will see Murkrow’s spawns rise not just because of the night factor, but thanks to the double battles in the forest with Cheryl. It’s even quite possible to run into two Murkrows at once, making them a lot easier to catch in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond. The only real trick is to make sure that Cheryl’s Chansey doesn’t KO it first, but with two, it’s not that big of a deal.
Players can KO one, use weak attacks alongside Chansey to lower its health and catch it. At the same time, players can also use non-damage dealing moves to let Chansey whittle away its health too. Other locations where Pokemon Brilliant Diamond can find Murkrow include Grassland Cave, Lost Tower, Riverbank Cave, Spacious Cave, Still-Water Cavern, and Sunlit Cavern. However, again, it should be noted that Eterna Forest is the first and best chance.
Once players have obtained a Murkrow, they should not it does not evolve by leveling up; instead, they’ll need to find a Dusk Stone in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond. It is recommended players wait until Murkrow is either level 25 or 35 to evolve them into Honchkrow, depending on what move set they want the Pokemon to have.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond: Where to Find a Dusk Stone to Evolve Murkrow Into Honchkrow
Like Murkrow, there are a few options with Dusk Stones. The best is to search for fossils in the Grand Underground after unlocking it. It’ll take some time, but a Dusk Stone is one of the items players can find there. This will allow them to find one and save onto it, being sure they are ready to evolve Murkrow at the proper level.
Other options include catching a Pachirisu and making sure it has the Pickup ability; this means Pachirisu will pick up items at random, potentially including a Dusk Stone. To remove the random element, players can also find Dusk Stones at Victory Road, Galactic Warehouse, and Wayward Cave. But, again, the earliest and most effective way to guarantee one is to spend a little bit of time in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond’s Grand Underground.
