A Pokemon fan artist created and showcased their interpretation of the beta version of the Legendary Pokemon Arceus on social media for fans to see. The Pokemon fan artist received compliments for their attention to detail with their work and for creating art of a lesser-known design for a well-known Pokemon that never officially saw the light of day.

Known as the Alpha Pokemon, Arceus is the box art Legendary Pokemon of Pokemon Legends: Arceus and is considered to be The Original One in the Sinnoh region's creation myth. With the base stat total of 720, and the capability to become any Pokemon type based on the Plate it holds, Arceus is easily among the strongest Pokemon to ever exist, outside Mega Evolution and Gigantamax forms. In terms of its appearance, Arceus has a slender, pale appearance with golden spikes and rings located in the center of its body, on the ends of its legs, and atop its forehead. However, the iconic appearance of Arceus was not always planned to be that way.

Pokemon Fan Turns Original Starter Trio Into Digimon

A talented Pokemon fan reimagines Red and Blue's original starters as Digimon, combining two iconic 90s monster-wrangling franchises in the process.

On Reddit, a Pokemon fan named Cheselth drew some digital art of the beta version of Arceus and posted their work on the Pokemon subreddit. Though the beta and final versions of Arceus were both quadrupeds, Beta Arceus had a golden and ghostly appearance with orange eyes and no significant features. However, Cheselth took some creative liberties with their version of Beta Arceus and turned the Alpha Pokemon into a constellation, with stars outlining the body and the eyes. The orange eyes were given more celestial tones, and two golden rings covered in Unown letters surrounded Beta Arceus' body as a way to solidify Arceus' divinity within the Pokemon creation myths.

Cheselth used a space background to add some contrast to Beta Arceus and show off how otherworldly it is. In the comments section, Pokemon fans praised Cheselth for their work and some compared their version of Beta Arceus to a "biblically accurate" angel. In response, Cheselth replied to some users with the phrase "Be not afraid..." as a way to acknowledge the popular Internet meme of biblically accurate angels. Though Beta Arceus is among the best beta Pokemon designs out there, it is unlikely to be officially used by Pokemon in any way.

With artwork from Cheselth and artists who have created sprites of Pokemon from the Sinnoh region, the concept of Beta Pokemon remains popular among Pokemon fans. Only time will tell what fans will create next.
