One skilled Pokemon fan and baker has posted photos online of a delicious-looking apple pie featuring Appletun. The dual-type Grass and Dragon Pokemon was introduced in Pokemon Sword and Shield, the eighth generation of the popular titles by Game Freak, and is one of the final evolutions of Applin. Fans of the franchise are known for creating delicious-looking seasonal treats featuring Pokemon, such as baking a Slowpoke cake in honor of Valentine’s Day.

Besides baking, creative fans have been channeling their talents in arts and crafts, creating representations of their favorite Pokemon. Earlier this week, one such gamer shared several photos of a handmade spooky Bulbasaur plush for Halloween, while another shared a custom animation for the Wish Pokemon, Jirachi. With over 1,000 Pokemon spanning the games and anime, fans have no shortage of choosing the lovable pocket monsters for inspiration.

A user going by the handle katilatah shared photos on the Pokemon subreddit showing off an apple pie with Appletun taking center stage. Baked with hand-picked apples, Appletun’s bright green skin tone, head covered with a red apple, and yellow underbelly stand in stark contrast to the brown pie that is bordered by fall leaves to complete the look. According to katilatah, the aptly named pocket monster was baked separately so that they could easily remove the part during cutting, but the original poster could not bring themselves to eat the cute Pokemon.

Other Pokemon fans in the thread were smitten, with many agreeing that it is one of the most adorable baked treats. One user was even surprised to learn that Appletun has eyes, since the Pokemon often appears with an apple covering them. The pie itself was backdropped against a copy of Pokemon Sword and katilatah’s Nintendo Switch, which had a scene of their player character sharing a meal with Appletun.

Appletun is the perfect inspiration to have chosen in creating this pie, as it is known as the Apple Nectar Pokemon, and it is the only one that resembles a baked pie. The pie is an impressive creation that fits in well with the fall season spirit when activities like apple picking and baking are common.

Meanwhile, in the game world, fans are still exploring the vast region of Kitakami in the recently released Teal Mask DLC and are even now preparing for the return of a highly popular Pokemon to Tera Raids. With the second half of the DLC on the horizon, Pokemon fans have a lot to be excited for and more inspiration to draw from in their creative endeavors.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available for the Nintendo Switch.
