Pokemon Legends: Arceus was released just over a week ago, and many gamers have been checking out the game since then. With a story taking place in the ancient Hisui region, players are tasked to learn more about the many Pokemon in the land and complete the region’s first Pokedex. Among the Pokemon to discover in the game is the Mythical Arceus.

First introduced in Generation 4, Arceus is a Normal-type Mythical Pokemon. With an equestrian-like design and known as "The Original One" in the lore due to its god-like attributes, it is hard not to recognize this Pokemon. While Arceus is featured in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, players can only battle it after completing the Pokedex. Recently, one fan decided to honor this Pokemon in a unique way.

In a post on Reddit, a user known as ino87origami shared a picture of a recent piece of origami they had crafted. What made this particular design intriguing was that it was based on the Mythical Pokemon Arceus. In the image, the origami had the same distinct shape as the Pokemon seen in the game. However, this artwork of Arceus stood out as the artist elected to make the design out of purple and green paper, as opposed to white and gold. One highlight was that the creator even managed to include the large mane seen on the back of the head of the creature.

Besides posting an image of the artwork on Reddit, ino87origami shared a tutorial video on YouTube. In the video, the artist showed the many steps needed to create the Mythical Pokemon. Impressively, they revealed that not only had they folded the Pokemon themselves, but they had come up with the design as well. According to the tutorial, it took the creator over an hour and 20 minutes to fold the origami design.

Since posting this origami on Reddit and YouTube, many fans took notice of the impressive Arceus origami based on Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Fortunately, for those that enjoyed the design, this was far from the creator’s only origami that they had created. Some of the other Pokemon they had made included Greninja, Tyranitar, Excadrill, and Rayquaza. Like the origami of Arceus, these Pokemon designs included tutorials for those interested in attempting to make them.

It is exciting to see passionate fans of Pokemon continue to make new artwork based on the Pokemon found in the series. Besides this Arceus origami, another fan recently created real-life Poke Balls based on the design seen in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. It will be interesting to see what talented fans like ino87origami come up with in the coming days. Perhaps, they will decide to make more origami based on Pokemon Legends: Arceus, such as the Hisuian Growlithe.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is available for the Nintendo Switch.
