As the years continue to pass, one thing seems certain; new Pokemon games will continue to release on a regular basis. Along with new Pokemon games comes a seemingly never-ending stream of fan art based on these popular titles. One Pokemon that is a favorite for video game artists to feature in fan art is Charizard and the other Pokemon in its evolution line.

First introduced as part of the original Gen 1 Pokedex, Charizard is arguably one of the most recognizable Pokemon in the entire franchise. It is a Fire/Flying-type Pokemon that has a dragon-like appearance. Evolving from Charmeleon, Charizard features an orange body with a signature flaming tale. Recently, one fan decided to make a stunning piece of artwork in homage to this classic Pokemon and its evolution line.

Taking to Reddit, a user named Siffrelot shared a recent animation they had created based on the Pokemon series. Specifically, this clip featured a Charmeleon sitting on the ground with a blanket draped over its body. After a few seconds, the Pokemon sneezed, making its proportions more than double in size. As a result of this sneeze, the Charmeleon had remarkably evolved into Charizard in mere seconds. The clip ended rather humorously with the blanket landing back on top of the large Pokemon.

Besides the animation of Charmeleon evolving into Charizard, which was no doubt impressive, Siffrelot managed to make a stunning setting for the video. The evolution of the Pokemon took place in a cozy room that featured a wood floor and a stone fireplace. In addition, there was a Lillipup Pokemon near the edge of the frame that was watching in shock as the entire evolution took place.

Beyond posting the impressive clip on Reddit, Siffrelot provided several details on how they created the animation. According to the creator, the clip was made using the software known as Aseprite. In addition, they revealed that it took around two weeks to complete the animation. Impressively, they noted that they had created several other animations based on video games, including ones for Metroid and Mega Man games.

Unsurprisingly, this Charmeleon evolving into Charizard animation has made an impact on numerous members of the Pokemon community on Reddit. With an incredible 73.7K upvotes in only a day, many loved this charming clip shared by Siffrelot. It will be interesting to see what other creations this talented Pokemon fan decides to create next. With around 900 Pokemon now included in the Pokemon franchise, there appear to be nearly limitless possibilities to choose from for their next project. Regardless, whatever they create next is likely to impress.
