The PlayStation brand is packed to the brim with some amazing exclusives and the like that helped elevate its status to a whole new level in the modern gaming landscape. Sony has really pulled out all the stops to ensure that their consoles have amazing gaming experiences that simply cannot be replicated on any other console. Even the controller they've released alongside the PS5 is truly next-gen, with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers doing a great job of making gaming more immersive than ever before.

There are several characters across the many legendary games released on the PlayStation who are quite memorable in their own right. The battle-centric focus of most games means that these personalities need to be pretty competent in combat, although there are certain characters who aren't nearly that powerful but still boast extremely strong attacks that can turn the tide of battle in an instant. Keeping this in mind, here are some of the weakest characters in PlayStation history who boast surprisingly powerful attacks.

10 Yukiko Amagi (Persona 4)

Yukiko in Persona 4

Persona 4 is considered by many to be the best game in the series, with the setting of Inaba feeling pretty homely in its own way. One of the many great characters in the game who joins the Inaba Investigation Team after being rescued is Yukiko Amagi.

This character has very powerful fire spells and learns a severe-Fire based attack called Burning Petals later on. However, she also has extremely low HP to make up for her high MP pool, meaning that a single Ice attack can spell trouble for her.

9 The Hunter (Bloodborne)

bloodborne blood starved beast

Bloodborne is one of the best FromSoftware games of all time, with the Gothic setting of the game perfectly complementing its Lovecraftian influences. The Hunter is the player-controlled character in the game who is pretty weak and can't really absorb too many hits before dying.

Of course, this Hunter also has access to a slew of weapons and abilities that make them a force to be reckoned with. Proper builds can lead to characters pulling off powerful magic attacks or just obliterating enemies with amazing weapon combos... but they'll always be vulnerable to dying from just a few hits if they're not careful enough.

8 Vivi Ornitier (Final Fantasy 9)

Vivi Ornitier casting a spell

Final Fantasy 9 is considered by many to be one of the best games in the series, serving as a homage to the golden age of the series. Many classic elements of the Final Fantasy series are touched upon in this title, which is quite lighthearted when compared to the other Final Fantasy titles that were released on the PlayStation around the same time.

Vivi is the party's black mage, so it only makes sense that this character would not have the highest HP around. Players should definitely keep him in the back row if they want to make the most of his powerful Black Magic spells without putting him in the line of fire.

7 Yuuki Shinomiya (Tokyo Xanadu)

Yuuki Shinomiya (Tokyo Xanadu)

Tokyo Xanadu is an underrated action RPG that more people need to check out, especially if they're fans of the genre. The title basically combines the social sim of Persona games with real-time action combat, which is executed pretty admirably.

One of the characters that players can control in the game is Yuuki Shinomiya, who has high magic power and can devastate enemies with long-range magical attacks. However, his low HP pool and defensive stats mean that players need to be careful when placing him in the heat of the action.

6 Mercedes (Odin Sphere)

Mercedes (Odin Sphere)

Speaking of underrated action RPGs that more people need to check out, another great title that is worth mentioning is Odin Sphere. This sidescrolling action title features a memorable story and great combat, making it worth checking out.

Mercedes is an easy pick for this list, given how insanely powerful she is despite having an HP pool that is virtually non-existent. Players need to be quite prudent in dodging blows and avoiding damage if they don't want Mercedes to be one-shot by some of the stronger enemies in the game.

5 Aqua (Kingdom Hearts)

Aqua in Kingdom Hearts 0.2 A Fragmentary Passage

The Kingdom Hearts games are pretty convoluted and feature several characters that the player can control. One of these characters is Aqua, whose magic is truly fearful when in the right hands.

Of course, as is the case with most magic users in JRPGs, Aqua's health and defenses aren't really all that impressive. A few hits are all it takes to down this Keyblade wielder in combat if the player isn't careful enough.

4 Miles Morales (Spider-Man: Miles Morales)

Miles Morales Maskless in Spider Suit

Miles Morales takes over the protection of New York in a side story where Peter decides to go on a work trip to help Mary Jane out. Players who control this character will quickly realize just how fragile Miles really is in combat.

Peter himself wasn't really all that durable in combat, and Miles is even worse off in this regard. Thankfully, his Venom powers and super-strength help him take out most of his enemies with ease, with his Venom Charge letting him heal if things get too dicey too.

3 Tifa Lockhart (Final Fantasy 7)

Tifa Lockhart leans over a bar in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part One.

The Monk class in Final Fantasy is extremely powerful but doesn't really boast a high defense stat. Given that Tifa takes over the role of the Monk in Final Fantasy 7, it's easy to see why she makes this list.

Her punches hit like a truck, but she can't really take too much damage in combat. A few powerful attacks are all it takes to knock her out, and it doesn't help that players need to place her in the front row to make the most of her offensive capabilities either.

2 Cole MacGrath (Infamous)

Infamous 2 Cole MacGrath

Speaking of superheroes who are essentially glass cannons, another great candidate in this regard is Cole MacGrath. This bike messenger ends up getting electrical powers after a delivery goes awry and decides to use his powers for good... or evil, if the player wishes.

While Cole's electrical powers are extremely impressive, there's no denying that he goes down quite easily, especially from gunfire. Taking cover is paramount to ensuring that Cole doesn't end up riddled with bullets just mere seconds after getting out of cover.

1 Ann Takamaki (Persona 5)

Ann Takamaki in Persona 5

Persona 5 is one of the greatest JRPGs ever made, with its art style and visual design making a strong impression on newcomers to the series. The game features a slew of memorable characters, including everyone's favorite blonde Ann Takamaki.

Her Fire-based skillset is amazing, and she even learns Blazing Hell, which is one of the strongest Fire attacks in the game. However, while her magical prowess might be impressive, she's the weakest member of the party in terms of both HP and defense.
