PlayStation VR2 launches in under a month's time, and trophies for upcoming games have already begun to surface online. More than 30 PlayStation VR2 games will be available during the launch window from first-party studios under the PlayStation Studios umbrella and third-party developers.

Following the original PlayStation VR headset's success, PlayStation VR2 marks a generational leap for VR gaming with vastly superior capabilities. PlayStation VR2 features a vivid OLED display with 2000x2040 resolution per eye, 90hz to 120hz refresh rate support, and a single USB-C connection from headset to PlayStation 5. PlayStation VR2's pair of Sense controllers carry the same adaptive triggers, haptic feedback support, and gyroscope capabilities that the PS5 DualSense controller is now known for. Despite the steep $549.99 retail price, PlayStation VR2 appears to be a feature-rich entry into VR gaming with many new titles on the horizon.

The first batch of PlayStation VR2 trophies have appeared online as Sony Interactive Entertainment's servers prepare for the February 22 launch. Specifically, upcoming arcade-style American football game 2MD: VR Football Unleashed All-Star is among the first PlayStation VR2 games to have its entire trophy list uploaded to Sony's servers. The new PlayStation VR2 title features 25 trophies in total including the highly-coveted Platinum trophy. Most of the trophy requirements are rather straightforward such as scoring a 20-yard touchdown, unlocking all teams, and winning a game.

More PlayStation VR2 trophies will surface online as more games sync to Sony's servers ahead of launch day. Launch day titles for PlayStation VR2 include NFL Pro Era, Dyschronia: Chronos Alternate, No Man's Sky, Gran Turismo 7, and Horizon Call of the Mountain. Thus far, the headset features one of Sony's most diverse launch lineups for a gaming product yet.

Trophy hunters should have no problem acquiring the Platinum trophy in 2MD: VR Football Unleashed All-Star. However, players may take much longer to earn the Platinum trophy in PlayStation VR2 titles such as Resident Evil Village and Gran Turismo 7 due to the amount of possible playthroughs and unique challenges to complete. Nonetheless, PlayStation VR2's launch looks to be an exciting time for VR gamers around the world.

PlayStation VR2's launch lineup is diverse, but many players would like to see bigger PlayStation titles and third-party franchises make the jump to VR for the first time as well. Sony must continue to prepare VR games from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners in order to generate strong sales and keep up positive momentum after launch.
