As the PlayStation VR2 is set to release next February, Sony announced that two of the best virtual reality games ever will be available on its upcoming headset: Moss, and its sequel Moss: Book 2. These games are already available for pre-order for PlayStation VR2 on the PlayStation 5 store.
The original Moss came out in 2018 for the PlayStation VR, HTC Vive, and Oculus headsets. This game follows the story of a reader transported to a fantasy world through an old book. He meets a young mouse named Quill and embarks on a mission to save the rodent’s kingdom. This action-adventure game received positive reviews, and its success led to a sequel released in 2022. Moss: Book 2 received largely positive reviews, winning several awards including VR Game of the Year at the VR Awards and being a runner-up for Best VR/AR Game at The Game Awards.
Sony revealed through its latest blog post that Moss and its sequel Moss: Book 2 will be available on the PlayStation VR2 upon its release, scheduled for February 2023. Both games were enhanced to benefit from the latest PlayStation VR2 features, with improved haptics to better feel damaging attacks to the in-game hero, a two-controller setup to interact with the world more easily, adaptive triggers to adjust the amount of force when performing an action, and eye tracking technology to further guide the players throughout the missions. The PlayStation VR2 versions of Moss and Moss: Book 2 also feature foveated rendering, increased field of view, and run at 90 FPS in 4K to better immerse the players in this fantasy world.
To entice players to discover these two virtual reality games, Sony is offering discounts on Moss and Moss: Book 2 for PlayStation VR2. Both games cost 10% less for PlayStation Plus subscribers, listed at $26.99 each instead of $29.99. Players who pre-order both games can get 20% off their purchase by choosing the franchise bundle, saving up to $19.99 compared to the original individual prices of Moss and Moss: Book 2.
Moss and Moss: Book 2 are the latest launch games announced for the PlayStation VR2. Horizon Call of the Mountain, No Man's Sky, Among Us, and Hello Neighbor’s spin-off Search and Rescue are already confirmed for Sony’s VR headset. More games should be announced for the PlayStation VR2 in the upcoming months, as the headset will launch in February 2023.
