PlayStation Trophy hunting is in an interesting place at the moment. With PlayStation Stars making Trophies more valuable, as they are required to level up, a crackdown on PS Store shovelware seems likely. This could make it more difficult for those who enjoy flying through easy Trophy games to pad their stats, but those that care more about having impressive collections have no need to worry.

Though PlayStation fans will find less hard Trophies to collect in November than usual, there are still a few standouts on the table. Fortunately, these tough Trophies are tied to two outstanding games, meaning that players will be able to enjoy themselves while securing the digital badges of honor.

Most Difficult Trophies to Earn in November’s PS Plus Games

November’s essential PlayStation Plus selection brought four games to enjoy, though three of them are full of easy Trophies. Heavenly Bodies has nothing truly tough to report, as its Platinum only takes eight hours to achieve. Only the Newtonian Controls could cause problems, but if players run through the game with them on for their initial playthrough, they can cleanup all the other Trophies using the Assisted Controls. As for the LEGO Harry Potter games, players are in for the usual LEGO Trophy list, with a 25-hour grind required for each title. However, there is nothing difficult in either list.

Though November’s PS Plus titles may look disappointing for those hoping for challenging Trophy hunts, Nioh 2 makes up for it. This is because the Nioh series is inherently difficult, meaning that players will have to get good at the game’s combat to complete any of the tasks on the list. For the Trophy “Yokai Questing Master,” players will need to kill a Mujina that randomly spawns from chests. As always, RNG-related tasks can lead to a lot of added difficulty for unlucky players. Beyond that, simply beating the game will be tough because of mandatory bosses like Kasha. Overall, 100% completion will take between 70 and 100 hours, so players will be in for some work.

Much like the PlayStation Plus games, a majority of the tough Trophies for the month of November are found in one title. Sonic Frontiers and Goat Simulator 3 may provide a lot of casual fun, but their Trophy lists are a breeze for anyone willing to put in a few dozen hours. Fortunately, God of War Ragnarok gives players two tough objectives to work toward, both of which are tied to some challenging endgame bosses.

“Grave Mistake” requires players to clear a dozen Berserker Gravestones, with each providing a boss that functions as the equivalent of the Valkyries from God of War 2018. While some of the Berserkers can be tough, especially the 2-on-1 and 3-on 1 battles, only Berserker King Hrolf can be considered brutally challenging. By combining several moves from his fellow Berserkers into a single ability lineup, players will be kept on their toes as they whittle down his health bar.

However, the Berserker king is only the second-hardest boss in God of War Ragnarok, as the new Valkyrie Queen Gna has to be beaten for “True Queen” to be unlocked. With a varied moveset and some quick attacks, she could take players several tries, especially if their version of Kratos is not at max level. Once beaten, players will have a Trophy to commemorate their accomplishment, and they will get a nice scene and outfit for Freya on top of that. Though November has less tough PlayStation Trophies on offer than prior months, completionists should give God of War Ragnarok and Nioh 2 their time if they want a bit of a challenge.
