The PlayStation 5 recently launched in Europe, and Swedish gamers saw a special sight in the sky to celebrate the occasion. When looking up in Stockholm, potential PS5 adopters could see the Sacred Symbols floating above for a brief time.

While many fans around the world have been celebrating the PS5’s launch on their own, playing games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Demon’s Souls, gamers in Sweden were treated to a flyover from a PlayStation-loving pilot. While it is unclear if the pilot was paid by Sony to advertise the PS5 or was simply just a talented fan excited about launch day, the plane’s trails depicted the console’s sacred symbols clearly.

Redditor Fair-Masterpiece-637 captured the plane trail message, which sees the classic PlayStation buttons displayed in the sky. Triangle, circle, X, and square are all present amongst the clouds, making for an extremely memorable sight in the sky. While this is hardly the only special launch celebration to occur for the new console, as Sony recently hosted a memorable PS5 launch event at a Japanese shrine, this Stockholm pilot may have outdone the beautiful launch party with this message.

While most PS5 launch stories have been a bit more tame, such as the heartwarming tale of a man surprising his gaming pal with a PS5, Sweden adopters of the console will have quite a story to tell. Another image captured by reddit user sneakysound shows off just how massive the Sacred Symbols really are in the sky. With the plane trail being clearly visible between some of Stockholm’s buildings, it would be hard not to notice the plane trail’s celebratory message.

One last view of the message celebrating the heavily praised PlayStation 5 console’s launch sees the plane captured on video as it finishes off the square symbol. While the square ultimately looks a bit uneven and compared to other parts of the message, leading to several jokes from commenters, the finished message is still cool to see, nonetheless. While the symbols were likely confusing for Swedish citizens unfamiliar with the PlayStation brand, gamers in the area likely got a kick out of seeing the Sacred Symbols in such a way.

With Sony even transforming London’s Oxford Circus for the PlayStation 5 launch, gamers in many countries were treated to special launch events. Perhaps if the COVID-19 pandemic was not an issue, PlayStation could have done even more to celebrate the PS5. Regardless, this plane trail in Sweden is still incredible.

The PlayStation 5 is available now.
